Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Big time go you @Zoe7 (and thanks for answering!). Things can get so messy when sleep turns so wonky! 😖 That one is an issue for me and usually my feeling really bad times are my most sleepless ones. I love that you can recognise your determination has played a big part too (because it most definitely has!) 😊

There is so much power in genuinely holding hope and belief in people when they're struggling to find it for themselves. So great Zoe 💗

Re: Just checking in.

I had so many years of not sleeping and trying to suppres so much with constant nightmares and flashbacks @CheerBear I honestly do not know how I got through all that and still did my job day in day out - I was definitely running on empty and it is no wonder it all came to a head when I got sick. I did know way back then that I needed a break from everything but I never dreamed it would be so long or so severe - I was that unwell that I couldn't even see it myself. It is great that I had an amzing team around me that not only knew how unwell I was but were there all along the way. That is another factor that has helped - an amazing team of health professionals that went above and beyond to make sure I got the help needed.

I can relate to a lot of that @Zoe7. I find it hard sometimes to accept that this has taken/is taking way longer than I thought it would (laughing as I remember saying "I just need a week, maybe two max., off" while we were in crisis accommodation now more than two years ago! :face_with_rolling_eyes:).

Great you've had such a supportive and on to it team too. That one makes a big difference also!

Re: Just checking in.

I remember when you joined @CheerBear both the first time as Funshine and then coming back as the little pink bear as you have come a very long way yourself. It is harder for you to see right now with all the topsy turvy couple of months you have had but it is obvious to us all here. You should be very proud of the way you have supported both yourself and others and it says so much about the kind of person you are that despite all the internal conflict you have still been a wonderful support to others. I am often in aure of your resilience when faced with huge obstacles and the way you look after your kids in such a kind and giving way is amazing - you are amazing CB ...lots and lots of these

Big giant thank you @Zoe7 😊 You give great warm fuzzies ❤

Speaking of said kids, I better start doing that one. One more day Zoe. One more day! They've dragged themselves through this week and they are so full of Decemberitis now it is not funny. We are so nearly there though! I have a feeling there will be some tears happening for one of mine in particular tomorrow. I'll be there probably doing the whole "my baby has all grown up" emotional mum thing (and will then hear how 'so embarrassing' that was 😆)

Great to catch you this afternoon. Oodles of them 💗 right back at you 😊

Re: Just checking in.

I am so pleased I gave you warm fuzzies - entirely my intention lol @CheerBear

Our kids finished up today so tomorrow there will be people everywhere. Be as proud a mum as you want and Big can just deal with it lol - on a more serious side though it will be wonderful to see them leaving that school and moving on into a brave new world and that is all down to you and being such a wonderful mum - you really do inspire many CB and your kids are lucky to have you. Now on that note I will say bye for now myself and get a few more things done (try anyway hahaha - might end up snuggling with Toby ) Catch you later CB

ps: it is times like this that I really miss our little turtle

Re: Just checking in.

Good morning, @CheerBear, just leaving this message here to see if you might be around and like a chat. Thinking I might have left it too late this morning. Either way, hope the day is kind to you and the LF.

Re: Just checking in.

Morning @Mazarita 😊 Nice to see you this morning. My cat woke me up at 4 this morning (ugh!) and I sat listening to some rain and birds enjoying the weather. I was thinking of you and wondering how you're going with everything?

I'm about to trying and encourage some dragging feet kids to their last day of school but am also not in a big rush this morning as I don't care too much about getting everything done before they leave. I'm just enjoying the feeling of getting to this day today I think 🙂❤

Re: Just checking in.

@CheerBear, good to see you too.

I'm going great with the videomaking. Maybe too great, lol. Have been pretty obsessive about it, doing it from morning to night really. Still very little sleep each day, less than four hours. Possibly a bit hypomanic at this point but only in relation to obsessive creativity. I've had this feeling before. Because I know it is likely to all slump again at some time in the future (based on past experience), I guess I'm making hay while the sun shines.

Other than that, things are fine.

Last day of school for the little ones, hope it's an easy one for you and them.

Re: Just checking in.

It's great you have something to focus your energy on @Mazarita, even if there is a bit more of it than you might like. From my experience, which is not in bipolar as you know though psych believes I have experienced hypomania before (and I probably agree with that), having a excess amount of charge can be tricky without a productive place to use it! Will you take, or try to take, some down time next week? Is C on holidays now?

Today is a big day for one especially who is and has been a jumble of feelings this week. I expect there might be some more of that this afternoon in a big way and have planned a little trip out with just us to do something fun (hopefully though it can backfire) after school. I'm looking forward to no school lunches or uniforms for a while and a calmer pace of things!
