Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Hi @Former-Member 👋😊

@CheerBear I will probably get some soon. All good for a vent post if it helps. I think I’ve been venting all night to myself :face_with_rolling_eyes:.

I am very much looking forward to two weeks time when uni has finished for the year. There are so many land mines in this house at the moment. This is his 6th yr of study and only has a few electives 1st semester next year, and we will all be doing the happy dance. His girlfriend finishes her degree in two weeks.

Well done to all of you @Teej ..... 💜💐 ..... study is something the household carries, not just the one who is studying.

Good morning.

And to you @CheerBear @Former-Member @Kurra .... anyone else about .....

That's awesome with the study coming to an end soon @Teej. Six years is huge. I'm watching two in my life feeling the pressure of the end of a uni year and really looking forward to some well deserved time off.

Re: Just checking in.

Yeah. It was 6 yrs of full on uni time. One yr of a bridging degree to transfer into his course and the 5 yrs of a double degree with an extra semester for misbehaving overseas and having to do a couple more subjects 😁. The other son has just finished 5 yrs, 2 and a half to go and I’ll have a dr of philosophy in the family.

@CheerBear, @Faith-and-Hope

@Faith-and-Hope you’ve well and truly done the uni yrs with more to come.

I have a feeling yours will be doing it too and you can ride this roller coaster too @CheerBear.

I was going to edit to say my other two are way more handy though. I think I got a pretty good deal really 😊. Going to miss one who helps me heaps next year when he goes os.

Re: Just checking in.

Yeah @Teej ..... you don’t think about that when they’re little n cute, right ?? ...... lol

My biggest did a double degree straight through from high school ..... he’s a non-perfectionist high-achiever .... the others have all struggled with the perfectionist genetics, which causes them to stress, baulk, oppose, stick heads in the sand, and drop balls ..... so they take the long and windy path ..... gaps year /s .... changed minds ..... stop / start ..... but they get there all the same. It’s just a helluva lot more colourful ..... (and you don’t have to have the perfectionist streak for that to happen, but it certainly helps ..... )

And yes ..... a ways to go yet.
