Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi, I'm new here, but so glad I joined the forum. Struggling a bit emotionally due to my daughter not being able to allow herself to break free from an abusive man. But I told her I'm here for her as her dad when she's able. I guess I feel guilt deep down because she has a similar disposition to me in accepting abuse ( I don't anymore, though) and because of my own illness was not there for her for a few years. My PTSD has been gruellingly challenging to manage, but with this experience with her, and being on the receiving end of his cruelty to me personally recently, Ive gone "quiet" and felt as though I lost some of my power. I had a float in a floatation tank a couple of hours ago, and this is a wonderful experience for my PTSD. Today I felt like I needed to have some group therapy I guess, so thanks for listening and for the many kind things Ive already read from other people's post's. All the best!!!

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member When I read all the stuff on ADHD I found lots of connections. I think if I was to be diagnosed with it I would never have been on the extreme scale but just enough to be a pain in the bum. I cried a heap when I realised. Must share a story though quickly. I've always blamed that S3 got the ADHD gene from me, I always felt like if his dad knew that he was diagnosed he'd blame me too. Me blaming me is ok but not giving me ex husband anymore ammunition. Anyway my son's have been describing their little half brother and from what I hear maybe it didn't come just from me 😄. I think a lot of us have perfectionist traits. No one would ever suspect that I did, it's been part of me never achieving so it comes out in different ways. I have been sooooo lost and confused by my mental health since christmas. Everything has changed for me. Im trying to come to terms with it but it is rocking my world at the moment. I'm so pleased you are looking after your mental health. Good luck with the Psych. Look after yourself. I also realised after I wrote that that I missed you too, not just your avatar 😳😘.....looking forward to a new avatar too. 💜🤗

Wow @Zoe7 you found a beautiful spark 💜💜💜. It really caught my eye. I think perhaps @oceangirl could do with another one that's as inspiring......but knowing you, you've already got that covered 🤗😘💜.

Hi @Jek,

nice to 'meet' you. I'm glad you could drop in. I'm sorry that you've had such a difficult time with PTSD. I don't experience it personally but I understand how gruelling it can be from others on the forum.

I know @Former-Member has very similar experiences to you with her daughter and her life experiences with MI. She's a beautiful soul who may be around at some stage to say hi. You may be able to find some of her posts around the place which might help you.

Welcome and wishing you all the best 💜🤗

Hiya @Former-Member,

how are you going today. Any news on your room at the inn? I've Lind of read a few posts here and there but have been quite unwell myself this week. Holding my own just today. I had a few meltdown moments before but managed to pull it together.

For all the lovely comments you've made on my posts recently. I'm sorry I haven't been so good at responding to them all.

Sending hugs 💜🤗💐

Re: Just checking in.

hello @Former-Member

my dearest teej you do not ever have to apologise to me.

I know you have a beautiful heart and you need to busy looking after you.

yes we respond to others and then get caught up with something else.

Myself I forget where and to whom I have responded.

New system is confusing me at the moment as well but then I have always had direction issues.

I am going into hospital on tuesday finally listening and doing as i am told.

strangely has worked out for the best because heard from older son the other night and his health has deteriorated so I will be in a safe place to talk about how I deal with this.

I do hope that you have enough support and are able to find some special moments.

stay safe, believe in yourself love xxxxx

That's all sounding like good steps @Former-Member. I hope you get the break and support you need and I'm glad you've heard from S1. I know it doesn't make it any easier but pleased you will have support to negotiate this. Wishing you all the very best for hospital. I really hope it helps. 💜🤗💐

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member, I'm sorry life has been really throwing you off kilter. I liked your story and yes I too find it interesting how others can have a perception of us but yet display many disturbing tendencies themselves. I'm dealing with some challenges too from others and if does make me start to wonder what the hell is going on at the moment with people!
Being mindful of my schemas as they were playing havoc to convince me of other things. I still have to fight harder some days on those and avoid telling people exactly what I think in the moment which would only isolate me further.
It appears to me sometimes it's like your not allowed to express your feelings, because it makes them view me as fragile and a don't upset her about that attitude forms. Arghh, totally useless! So I'm avoiding those that stir me up as best I can. Not always easy.
I'm glad I made you smile and it's nice to be back on board. 😊❤
