Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @eth
Sorry I missed you the other day. I've had a couple of very ordinary weeks but you get that. Interestingly my phams worker yesterday told me I should apply for NDIS. I had not put myself in that bracket. She said it's one of those things that if I don't I could lose services or miss out. She is just being trained in it now to help her clients. I still don't envisage I'll need it but she said that to apply because you never know. I'm not sure as I still hope that one day I'll find some kind of normal. Haha whatever that is.
I hope you are ok. How is it going finding a psychiatrist? I have a new one who is female which I'm happy about. I just hope she is nice and good.
Is it that you don't have internet to your laptop @eth so you have to borrow the tablet? Just asking incase there is something easy to fix that we could help with.

Oops posted too early.
I hope you are ok and settling in. Really hope you didn't get too knocked around by the heat lately too. Thinking of you. Sending hugs

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @oceangirl @Former-Member if you're interested. I slept 7 hours YAY but I did have to take meds for that. My goal today is to take my quilt and underlay to the laundromat, then straight to my class. Not sure if I'll come home first but then to TAFE. Hopefully I'll have a rest and cook tea. HUGE day for me. So grateful for the sleep.
What are you guys planning?

@oceangirl

edited this post to say I started a new thread called daily goals, motivation and check in. Looking forward to your goals. 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

Oh, let me know @oceangirl, and @Teen, where to post our daily goals & achievements. Teej, You have some good goals today, I'll hold you to 'em lol. Don't have any thing planned today myself, oh, hang on a min, that's the purpose of this exercise, in that case:
- dishes - days catch up, lots of em 😞
- sweep floor
- unpack car from trip & put away
That would be extra good if I could achieve just those things. Might start with self care though...
- shower (overdue)
Check in later

Re: Just checking in.

Hi @Former-Member. Good to hear from you. Life's been a bit ordinary for me lately too. Really hard to get motivated. Yes I found a psychiatrist - quite a way from home and I have to wait til March 23 to start with her. But I have contacted NDIS and have forms being posted out for the application process. Have talked more about all that on the thread I started "Anyone started with the NDIS?". I can't remember how to link a thread. Also I finally heard back from PHaM person and they are sending forms too.

re the computer ... I have Internet on it and can do everything else but can't log in to the forums. Keep entering my details and they disappear. Have had emails to and from SANE about it and they say to try using google chrome instead of the other two search engines I've tried. Just haven't done that yet as me helpers are always busy. So I'm still using this borrowed iPad when it's available.

There is more from others too about NDIS on the thread I mentioned above.

hope you have one of the better days today.

Re: Just checking in.

@Former-Member I also have a heap of homework forms and written exercises to do for the psychologist. Feeling a bit swamped as they bring up a lot about the past and also ask me to talk about goals which I find it very hard to do.

Re: Just checking in.

Just screaming. I just had my appointment with tafe. The course is only run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You have to be there for two full days. No other option. Tuesdays I have my focus groups and Wednesdays mindfulness and my therapist who only works one day a week in private practice and it's Wednesdays as from last week. Help??? I can see if my therapist can change times and I see her late but I'll be wrecked after two full days and probably too brain dead to take it in.

Re: Just checking in.

Sorry to hear that things are triggering you and loads of paper work @eth YUK. Me too with goals which is why I'm having to make daily goals on the run at the moment because there is no way I can keep working on the same goal for a week. I change too much mood wise, spend too much time in crisis. Go slow with the hard stuff when it's triggering you, just a bit at a time. @oceangirl can probably relate to what you are going through with the psychologist homework. Lovely to see you back. Please keep checking in 💜🤗😊

Re: Just checking in.

are there any other options re Tafe? @Former-Member maybe a different one, or another one may deliver the course differently?
