Hi all @Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51@BlueBay@Former-Member@Queenie@Former-Member@Decadian@Jacques@Former-Member@Former-Member@Zoe7@Whim@Ffm48@TAB@Former-Member@Former-Member@Former-Member@Former-Member@Appleblossom@utopia And everyone else. Bit brain dead searching the Internet for affordable housing in Qld. I'm now looking at Gympie and Maryborough. The house prices are quite low and in seemingly good condition. I'll just have to wait and see what 2017 brings. 🎶💕

Re: Just checking in.
@Kurra. Hello and Happy New Year. I've been to Maryborough - over 20 years ago now. But it was a beautiful town then. Gympie if I remember, was hilly. And it had hidden mine shafts. Just what I remember. Hopefully an affordable house will come up for you soon.

Re: Just checking in.
Hey @Kurra,
wow you are amazing. I hope it doesn't come to you moving to somewhere you are uncomfortable with. Two things came to mind about it, now that I'm calmer a just a tad more rational. One is both towns are flood prone so make sure you know the risks of that. Secondly I was wondering what mental health clinicians would be there to support you. Could you keep your psychologist through Skype? When I chose this house I looked into the mental health services in the area. I chose to stay in the area of my mental health team as I may not have got as good a care from the next area. It may be worth checking it out.
Thinking of you and crossing my fingers and toes 2017 is much kinder and more stable for you. I think if I had no ties and had my choice I'd move to Tasmania. It's the place that has felt most like home in my travels.
Sending hugs 💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.
As you mentioned @Former-Member the prices are extraordinarily low. Of course I'm far too young to go into over 50s places. I'm thinking along the lines of a 3 beddie with a sleep out. I want enough room for family and friends to visit and not have to worry about accommodation. It all depends on whether I get a voluntary redundancy or not. Hugzzz 💕🎶

Re: Just checking in.
Hi @Former-Member I've checked the flood prone areas in both towns. It's also one of the reasons I'm considering the high-set Queenslander houses. I will be able to continue with both my psychiatrist and psychologist through Skype and it's likely I would visit the town where my psychologist works and similarly so my psychiatrist. My GP is less likely to do this but he's quite exceptional so I wouldn't discount the possibility. If I can't get work in my type of work I will have the option to continue in that field of expertise as a volunteer. I will also be able to transfer the other volunteering to Qld. I'm really researching every aspect of the implications of such a move. The housing should work out OK. I'll meet people and make new friends through my volunteering and I'll also volunteer for the LifeLine phone counseling. I've got a feeling that I won't have much free time. One day @Former-Member you'll be able to make that move to Tasmania. Plan and dream. That's all you need to do. Luv n Hugzzz 💕🎶

Thanks @Former-Member. I do have a tendency to research everything to the extreme. I'd rather walk in to something new with my eyes wide open. Take care 🎶💕

Re: Just checking in.
@Former-Member, me think Tassie not such a good idea, the health system is in crisis and unemployment is high. And its far from ya boys. Have you checked out the Snowy, Gippsland, Canberra, Armidale?

Re: Just checking in.
I've been to Gympie and Maryborough. @Kurra I think I prefer Maryborough. Yes, it does flood there at times. But everyone has a different opinion. And that's ok. Good you're doing research. 👍💜
