realtionships and mental health

hi everyone i don't really know what i'm doing or why i'm doing this but i need help.

i am in a happy 10 month realtionship but recently alot of crap went down hill and i hadn't realised but i had been dumping it all on my parnter which is not his job. he does his best to support me but last night he informed me that i've dumped to much on him and that the thought of breaking up with me had crossed his mind as result he was very consdrite about it all and just basically stated that i needed more help then he could give me and that it was waying to much on him. i spent all of day convincing him thatll ill get better we talked about it and he belives me and is willing to stick with me but i need to be trying to activily get better. i talked to a consuller today getting everything of my chest helped but i dont really know where to go from there please help this is the only realtionship ive ever felt safe and happy in and i dont want to ruin cause my brain is fucked up.

Hello @jayce456,

First of all, thank you for sharing what is happening for you with the Sane Forums, I can think of many people who are not even prepared to tell their loved ones in real life what is happening to them let alone post about their problems on the internet. So well done to you for being very brave to tell us what is happening with you and your partner!

Can I also just say that it is so not true that your brain is what you think it is (sorry, I hesitate to swear!). Your brain is a marvelous and incredible organ. Just like you are a marvelous and incredible person. I just want to let you know that it is very normal to have difficulties in relationships -- believe me I know: only this year a very important 10+ year relationship ended for me and it has caused me to develop severe depression. So I just want to say that I really do see things from your point of view.

I am sending you and your partner lots of love and positive vibes and I hope things can return to a happy baseline!
