slipping again TW DEATH

slipping again TW DEATH

hey all,

what's the deal with BPD and constantly slipping... I feel as though I cant be happy bc every little thing that happens around me takes a massive toll on me...

so recently I have got a boyfriend and one of his friends lost their baby and it was devastating of course. but now I feel like anytime I do something little my bf snaps at me... I don't think it's real tbh I think it's all in my head but like I just get worried that he won't want me anymore after the smallest things...

I put my cold hands on him today and he snapped at me and I instantly wanted to cry. I don't know if im just a cry baby atm bc of everything that has happened recently but besides that I just feel like I'm being over dramatic in my head.

please send me some tips and ideas to help

I'm hearing you @cat21d .

I've lived that BPD life and your post brought back so many memories.

I'd cry at the drop of a hat and every moment was consumed with thinking about death. It became some obsession.

You mentioned you cried because your bf snapped at you. I won't say that's totally unreasonable. For me, if someone typed a full stop at the end of a text message, I'd cry and be filled with hurt.

I like to say that borderlines are quite emotionally sensitive. They can be consumed with emotion at the slightest thing.

Talking therapy was what worked for me. I engaged in over 18 months of Mentalization based therapy. It wasn't easy, but it taught me the skills to 'read' situations better.

Another strategy is that when I'm upset, I don't try to 'fix' any situation. I give it time before approaching anything so that I'm not fuelled with upset and rage.

After over 15 years of emotional hell and back, I am on top of the world now.

I hope the same works for you.
