bad outlook on life

bad outlook on life

Hi All,

I'm new here and I just wanted to jump on and have a bit of a dribble...

Last year I was diagnosed with BPD.

So recently I have had a couple of bad things happen and in the beginning I kept my head up and would say "it's okay things will look up after this" and yet now I feel as though the world is crumbling around me.

I had recently left a very toxic relationship where I was emotionally abused, I was then injured at work and was put off while the workers comp claim was being processed. After day in day out of calls and mental breakdowns to the insurance they finally came to a decision which was to decline my claim, 6 months after my injury. In the mean time, I left my toxic partner, had to move back to my parents because I couldn't afford my house anymore, couldn't afford drs treatment, stopped seeing my psychologist, stopped going to the gym and then started to decline rapidly with my mental health.

Now after all of this, I am now on the end of the line where I want to just get back to work and move on with life, and leave my past in the past.

But just to keep the shit rolling, I have had a sinus infection for the last 3 weeks do I can't go to job interviews or start work anywhere till this heals.

I feel like everything just keeps kicking me in the head and I'm struggling to keep my head up can someone give me some advice to keep going.

Hi @cat21d

Welcome to the forums. I hope you find it as supportive here as I have. The members and mods are really supportive.

Thanks for sharing your story. It takes great courage.

You sound like you have been through I very difficult time. I’m sorry you have had to go through all of it. It sounds as though you have grown through it.

It’s a shame about the infection. I hope it eases for you soon so you can continue on the job front. Working for me has been my saviour. It’s a reprieve from my constant thoughts.

I hope you can start working soon.

Hey @cat21d ,

Welcome to the forums!

It sounds like things have been pretty tough even though you are trying so hard to move on with things.

I can see how disheartening it can be when things in life feel like they just keep kicking you in the guts.

I have BPD. It's 'easy' for me now, but it wasn't always that way.

I've had my fair share of ups and downs. There were points in my recovery where I felt similar to how you have described.

Yet at the same time, recovery is absolutely possible. There is no denying that life can be totally awesome once an individual learns to live successfully with the symptoms of BPD.

Stay hopeful. You are NOT alone 🙂
