Your yesterday sounds lovely @BlueBay ... it had everything ... family, good food, excitement, restful periods, no pressure. Sounds ideal.
My day started okay thanks. Rang my Dad in the morning to talk to him. His first Christmas without Mum. First time in 62 years so he tells me. His memory is amazing actually. Also spoke to my brother and his family. My Dad is staying on the farm with them for a few days over Christmas, which is good for all of them. Christmas is a bit of a sad occasion there, between Mum passing away just over 5 months ago, and memories of my brothers youngest child. Christmas isnt the same without children around I feel. My brothers other kids are no longer kids ... the youngest is 18 and the eldest is 20.
We had christmas lunch with a long time friend of my husband's and his wife. They live across the road from us. It was a nice lunch. Unfortunately hubby drank way too much, and when added to his many medications, he was very drunk. He had two falls, one while at our neighbours and another back home when he got up to go to the bathroom. In trying to break his first fall, I managed to get my hand crushed between hubby and a brick wall. Took a big chunk of skin off and bled heaps.
Hubby managed to only graze one elbow. But thankfully no serious damage. I was able to protect his other arm which currently has 9 stitches in it from having a skin cancer cut out last week. That was my main concern when I saw him pitch forward upon trying to stand up from the table. I wasnt there when he had his second fall in our bathroom. He banged the top of his head I know. Any other damage will probably be spotted this morning when he is a bit more with it, and any sore spots will be hurting. Plenty of bruises I suspect. I know my hand is sore.
So what turned out okay, ended up not so good. I tried to stop him drinking so much, but you cannot stop an alcoholic. He just doesnt know when to stop, or how. Its really sad to see. At least he wasnt agressive with me this time, I think he was way past that stage.
I am really sorry to hear that your back and hip has not improved. I too would be pushing for an Xray or ultrasound, just to make sure you know what you are dealing with. I hope you can manage just a gentle walk today. Is the weather cooler where you are? We had rain yesterday ... I woke up to rain yesterday morning ... no better Christmas present than that! We had 40 odd mms in total, so it was really worthwhile rain. And the day was nice and cool too, which helped with a hot roast Xmas dinner. Meant to be getting hot again from today though.
I dont have much planned for today. Other than watching the Boxing Day test at the MCG of course. Otherwise ... not much at all I suspect. I see you are planning to update your resume. Good for you ... something will come up, you are a good and hard worker. Have you received, or requested, references from your current employer? Get in before they wind up. I'm sure they will give you a good reference, either written or verbal if asked. Check with them that they dont mind you providing their contact in order for any future prospective employers can talk to them. After all it is not your current employer who is letting you go ... they were clearly very happy with you. The only reason you no longer have a job to go to, is because the new owners are cutting back on staff or they have someone they are bringing in from elsewhere.
Have the best day possible @BlueBay and waves also to @Gazza75 @Owlunar @Appleblossom
