So I’ve started my social work placement at a school recently. I’ve been struggling emotionally, I’ve considered raising it in supervision but I don’t know my supervisors well yet, and I don’t want to seem incompetent. I went back to child brain 😔, I think I’m starting to come out, I don’t think it’s behind me though

Totally get feeling uncomfortable with your supervisors @creative_writer. Hopefully you can build up some trust and then it'll be easier to be open. Because that's part of why they're there - to support you during the rough times.

@Jynx, supervision is probably going to be challenging at times, I am not used to being open, and I feel like I'm supposed to have my shit together, but I know supervisors are there for support. I guess a part of me is afraid of being judged. I know from experience that just because someone is in the sector, it does not mean they won't judge

@outlander, I am tired of living on the edge, I never feel safe (even though I am), and this depression is so ruthless. I give so much to look "okay" during the week, it's exhausting

Please know you’re not alone. So many experience this myself included. It’s so hard wearing a mask all the time and then when we do take it off we start crumbling.
I also read about your counsellor as well. I’m sorry you no longer trust her and feel they’re judgemental as well. It’s tricky when we loose supports. Do you think you can find another counsellor

@outlander, I have a psych too, but she is hard to get frequent appointments with, and Medicare has put a limit on sessions. Counsellor was for in between, it’s hard to find supports that I feel comfortable with. I can ask them to allocate me to another counsellor, will see how understanding the service is

@outlander, I hope this time I am luckier. It's really hard not being able to talk about how things are going with people in my personal life
