I recently started back on medication specifically anxiety medication for the first time in years
I wanted to write about the journey for me and maybe track my progress by writing about how its going.
it might help someone else who’s considering it, currently going through or has been before.
i don’t think I’m allowed to name what I’m taking but thats ok. this is mostly for me to just get it out of my head. I might even decide Im being too vulnerable and delete this thread, but lets give it a shot.
Starting to get really worried that I might die in my sleep

I’m ok today, struggling a bit with the over active thoughts but - if I look back from when I first started on this almost 3 weeks ago I can see a difference n

Physically the side effects have pretty much all gone even the one my doctor said may stick around so that is pretty good

3 weeks today I think? 3 sundays ago I started taking this anyway
A run down. Overall, I’m ok. Physically, nothing to note, my side effects from initially starting have gone away. Some side effects that I thought may linger have started go away , for now at least. I have had some real WACK days where physically I have felt so off, almost so sensitive to touch it was almost painful, glad that went away. That was weird.
Mental health wise, I think I’m doing ok I’m comparison to 3 weeks ago, I feel like going out in public busy places does not overwhelm as quickly or as much, it’s like things are dialled down a notch so I can have some breathing space to work on how to cope when I do feel anxious in the shops etc. I’m probably doing better just overall, I can’t pin point, but I would say thatthe feelings that my heart rate is high, shirter breathing and my overall anxious feelings are still there, but just a little less uncomfortable then before.

Re: Life on an SSRI
Update: 3.5 ish weeks In moving from everyday updates to less often cause things seem to be Stabbing
I can definitely see things have been changing and I am possibly less “highly strung” as my partner would put it, just little things tend to overwhelm not as quickly also feel like as I have already said the base line of waking up anxious and on edge I would describe as previously being a 9 or 10 now feels more like a 7,8
By not feeling quite so easily anxious Im less inclined to act angrily more easily maybe ? Coukd be wrong

Oh thanks for reminder @ArraDreaming! I've been a bit all over the place tonight haha. I'm about to log off but will be around again tomorrow. I think I just asked about whether the side effects had also lessened. And also said I hope that things continue to improve for you 😁

Yes @ArraDreaming recently moved over to be on the forums more often. Which has been super wonderful. So I'm glad we'll have many more opportunities to chat in the future. Super glad your meds have been helping!
