Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks, @Dimity - by some miracle we didn't lose power!

It's been 10 weeks for the asthma. I think if it lasts another month I might have to go back to the respiratory specialist. Money has become an issue this year however, as my inheritance is running out.

I hope your dentist and haircut go well today. And that you don't stress too much about the home help tomorrow. Easier said than done, I know...

Hey @NatureLover @Dimity @Appleblossom ,

Hope you've been okay in this weather. I'm not sure where you are, but I hear that there is a heatwave across a lot of Australia.

Is your asthma better @NatureLover ?

Re: Winter solstice

@NatureLover waiting on your respiratory specialist is hard...

Yes the home help is stressful. I didn't tidy sufficiently for one thing, and also she skimps on cleaning the shower. Both mean I'll have to try harder. And the cat doesn't like being shut in the spare room.

Sorry to hear things are getting tighter financially. That sounds stressful. I think you've said there've been times you really struggled in the past.. I trust you're more secure now... it's so much harder when it impacts your mental health.

Hi @tyme , @Dimity and I are in Melbourne, with the heatwave. Not sure where @Appleblossom is.

My asthma is still bad - thanks for asking.
