Hi @ArraDreaming
I think you did really well with your answers to the questions people asked yesterday - I am impressed truly - you have come a long way,
You understand that you need help from the people in your real life - so true - if they understand that you have anxiety at levels that make it hard to communicate that's a good start - and I get it that you don't know what causes this - it also makes you feel rotten afterwards as well as during - I really understand that.
Something triggers this off - at this stage you don't know what - you do know you need to get outside into the fresh air though - so that's one way of handling it. Your work would keep you outside a lot as well - so that's a good thing.
I know my dental phobia started when I had a hard time with a very rough dentist in the Dental Hospital - well - maybe 40 years ago now - when I felt completely helpless - I understand why that would cause a phobia - I am used to my own dentist - still - when I have had to have a tooth out I freak out - I have learned to express this though.
The degree is harder to communicate - I have been aware you have been struggling with that on-line - so there has been a space between what you are saying and what we can grasps - yesterday shows an advance in that.
For me - I think the feelings of helplessness stem further back into my early childhood when I need a simple procedure under chloroform - my mother told me later she didn't tell me about it in advance because I might worry - I would have coped with it all had I known what was going to happen - I fought the doctors and nurses with the mask - I was three years old - actually I am proud of the battle I put up - still - the fears and helplessness stuck and it's only during the last few days I have connected it all - and a lot of this has been due to you and I would like to thank you for that.
I am seeing another dental surgeon week after next - I will let you know if my extra awareness about this helps.
In the meantime I would like to say how well you write about horticulture - it gave me a whole new grasp of you and your life - you are a good writer - this job is important to you - and so is your family
All the best Jay
