Hoping to connect with someone

Hoping to connect with someone

Hi all, feeling a little lost about it all… the who, the what, the where, the why, the, how. Still aiming to thrive seems I’ve been doing alright but just want to feel good all the time…

don’t have any friends I could call at the moment, seems my friendships last 5-10years and then that’s it. they’ve been manipulative, controlling, narcissistic, sociopathic… some normal but I guess I don’t look normal, against the word of my psych, family… I don’t know that’s where all my problems stem I feel.

working, but that’s been challenging, people seem they know you by looking at you, anything resonating with you?

family is the only thing has been by my side I feel very grateful for them… they don’t tend to like me much, but they love me… I’m 35 and feeling confused by all this things used to just flow for me, I want to go back to that, but it’s quiet hard and challenging given everything.

@MDT @TAB @StuF @Former-Member how are you guys doing? Sometimes my mind goes crazy and how I’m feeling at the time seems like it is right for everything at that moment, I’ve almost been broken, well… I just want everything to go my way for once. I don’t want to be controlled by other people actions, is that possible?

Hi @Former-Member

Re: In support of : you have to look at where you have come from.

A Joyce Meyer quote: l may not be where I want to be, but l certainly am not where I was.

As far as some people seem to have it easier, i agree.

But many have it tougher.

Some who have it tougher seem to have better outward appearing ways of dealing with things.

Anxiety is not visible like a broken arm.

So some cope better by not sharing their issue and feeling happy.

Like a new laughing group. They destress by laughing in a group.

Some who seem in control, when listened to have it hard. I would not swap

There is always someone better off and worse off.

Glad you have response on your topic

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

@Former-Member yeah, seems I’m still adapting to the way things are. I’m medicated and it shows, that is where my problems stem from… all trivial, like casual racism but it has its toll on me. I wish it didn’t. As for a stable home, income, food, well that seems to be ok for now. I have a car I like… got the basics, which I’m grateful for… still living with the parents.

don’t know much about you, except you can converse, I don’t really like small talk, but need to improve in that regard. Being an introvert mainly that is tricky.

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

Hi @Former-Member

It is nice to hear you have the basics.

Many do not recognise that

You really show an excellent awareness to your situation.

I hope there is a lot of positive progress going forward.

My mental strategy refuses to say we hit a brick wall.

My quote is we face hurdles.

We get over them.

We have to realise some hurdles are not pursuing.

Use our energy better elsewhere.

I do admire your self awareness and positive attitude.

@Former-Member

I am also an introvert

I prefer listening

I am chatting more on this forum than l usually would.

I do think as we progress through trials, we have a duty to use the talents we learn to try and help others.

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

Hey @Former-Member i don’t know about you, but I think everyone is fine helping themselves, I used to love helping people, till well it wasn’t in my best interest to do so, at work I fake like helping people. But every so often it is ok I imagine.

I had a good chat with people at work today, was confident, not too confident talked about my medications, I don’t know how they’ll take it, but I can abstain for my previous drug use by saying I’m medicated.

it’s been a challenge. What do you get up to in your days. My past is well and truly gone, I strive to be good and right and just, though that’s not the way the world operates but idc, sorry for this irrelevant chat but it’s helping me! Cheers for your listening (reading) and understanding, I feel I’m getting this life thing with an Illness.

imso lost and confused then I’m knowing and wise, it’s crazy… today I said hi to a previous boss who accused me of being a druggo, it’s in the past, how would they know… but he said hi mate… as if to think he was on the same playing field… people at work called him toxic… but here I am dancing with the devil. Don’t know what to make of all this, feel like I’ve been let out of a cage…. Feel free to respond/react how you please just wanna relax after a long and well triumphant day. Tomorrow will be what brings me back to reality… hi

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

Hi @Former-Member

Very interesting thoughts.

I have read all.

I will say it is important we respect each others views.

I think everyone needs help at times.

That is why we have doctors, accountants, lecturers, coaches etc.

We do not have to take control.

My point is more like say with prescribed medication. If someone feels unusual, someone who had previous first hand use may use their talents and assist the other.

A reformed alcoholic may share the talents they learnt when they see someone else.

I try and share patience and problems with the Justice system.

I do hope you see where l am coming from.

I battle with if someone cannot look after themselves we cannot.

I do work part time as a disability support worker. We have to let people maintain independence.

But we need help.

I was on a ladder last weekend. I needed someone with me in case.

I hope that explains it better.

We can be friends and do not have to agree on everything.

That is where l say Go Saints

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

Hi @Former-Member

I get you.

I do not watch AFL, but it is my team.

It is my dry humour to show we do not all have to agree and we can all still get on.

I hope SANE forum lets you express thoughts and in forums you reply to others lets your mind rest and help others.

Re: Hoping to connect with someone

@Former-Member Never found a team to follow, I was always just watching the game to see the winner. Players, game, change over time to adapt to what the spectators want..: saying that I feel comfortable with my thoughts and don’t plan on watching anything anytime soon
