Re: Where to start

Hi @Jazs

Sounds like you are going through a tough time right now and it's heartwarming that your thoughts are with your son and husband.

Sometimes we need to speak with someone and that can be a real relief to get our thoughts off our chest. I will list some crisis support services below:

  • Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat
  • Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling
  • Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636
  • 1800RESPECT: 1800 737 732
  • If in immediate danger: 000

I sent you an email to check in with you if you could reply, please?

Regards

RiverSeal

Re: Where to start

Hi @Jazs and welcome to the forums. Sometimes 'keeping it together' takes every ounce of energy we have. It is also okay not to and to need time and space to feel our emotions. I personally find allowing myself to feel those things helps to get through them but that is not everyone's experience. Do you have any supports in place that can help (ie. GP, psychologist, etc.) Of course, we are here for you also and it is a very courageous thing you have done in reaching out here. I hope it helps to be amongst people who 'get it' and we can provide some added support for you.

Re: Where to start

@Jazs you are doing everything you can and you will get through this. There are many people feeling the way you are feeling right now, it's ok to be feeling overwhelmed and stressed... it means you care about something.

Your husband and son are lucky to have you in their lives and have you thinking about them when you are in a time of crisis within yourself.

There are many ways we can help, I'm glad you have an appointment with your GP, it's a great start to getting back to how you like to live. Living in turmoil is excruciating, but the good thing is, its temporary and you will at some point come out the other side.

Thank you for being on the forum, you are so very welcome to be here and your courage is inspiring to me.
