My Place

My Place

Hi guys,

I just wanted to have a thread where I could talk about things that make me happy without bothering anyone else.

So on Sunday a week ago I planted some seeds into a metal tub. Some veggie seeds. Carrots, garlic chives and although it’s not the season for it I threw in some cucumber seeds.

Well yesterday, only a week after planting I noticed my first little green shoot. Then today, there are a bunch of green shoots. Funnily enough I think it’s the cucumbers that have come up first. I may have to make a cloche to help them grow in the cooler weather. The tub is sitting on a concrete path so hopefully that will help keep the soil a bit warmer. I moved them a bit more into the sunshine today as we noticed that the carport was casting shade on them quite early in the afternoon.

I am so happy to see their green little faces pushing up from under that dark earth. Gives me hope in all things. I love to watch things grow. It makes me happy to think that I have played a part in that.

Every day I water them and have a chat with them. How are you today my seeds? I hope that you will grow soon! Now I can encourage them to grow bigger and stronger.

I can’t wait to set up my other veggie garden and grow more things. I am especially looking forward to planting my tomatoes come spring.

Re: My Place

Yikes @Oaktree sounds like you’re better off without that group in your life. I’m sorry you’ve been through all that drama.

Re: My Place

@Oaktree It may have just been the group dynamics that alienated you and made you feel down because you were not used to socialising. Next time I have a small suggestion ❤️ - take in a piece of sodalite crystal with you maybe with some black tourmaline crystal and amazonite crystal. Know how to cleanse and charge them before use or they won't work.

The sodalite will make group activity more cohesive and everyone will get on together including with you, the black tourmaline will make you confident and protect you from psychic attack and the amazonite will make you feel more aligned with any unpredictable elements that you feel may erupt in the group environment. <google metaphysical properties of these crystals>

Just chalk it up to experience, I know its a yuk feeling when stuff goes wrong in our lives but give yourself some credit - you have a mental illness and socialising can be difficult for people. It would be nice if we lived without these deficits but its something we have to manage throughout our lives. So pat yourself on the back and say you tried and maybe try more safer inclusive groups in future that are non judging and offer encouragement.

Hi @Former-Member

Thanks so much for the Crystal suggestions. I am a involved in a mental health organisation that does groups which is inclusive but I wanted to try and make friends outside that group.

Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Re: My Place

I know @Oaktree I think you may have mentioned it before regarding the mental health group you allready attend. Its hard streamlining back into standard groups however. It would have been nice if it worked out for you. I'm sorry you feel let down and disappointed by this experience ❤️ I'm about to go for a walk. I hope you will be ok today. Sending hugs

@ClockFace

This is my thread which is fairly new. I try and keep things fairly positive here but sometimes frustrations slip in. Feel free to have a look around.

So today I feel happy about my husband starting his new job. I don’t know how long he will be able to stick it because he is dealing with a lot of pain in his arthritic knee but I am hopeful. The extra money certainly would be very helpful. I spoke to him when he was on his lunch break and he was hanging in there although he was in pain. He has to stand up all day so it’s not easy for him but he is only doing 3 days this week.

My seedlings are doing well, especially my cucumbers. They are getting their fourth leaves. The carrots and garlic chives didn’t have a great germination rate so I only have a few of those up. Maybe I should plant some more? I do have another packet of carrot seeds.

I am waiting on my new seeds to germinate but I am not expecting to see them until probably the weekend. Hopefully I will get a better germination rate on those. They are in the greenhouse so staying nice and warm.

I have done a bit of crocheting this morning. I finished one yellow square and am halfway through another one. Then I will do the last two tomorrow. I crocheted 3 red squares yesterday, now I need to sew the ends in and block them. They are for a donation blanket for Perth Children’s Hospital.

I have had a good day today, better than I expected. I thought I would be lonely with my husband off at work for the first time in nearly 3 years but I have coped well. I have been watching a bit of television while doing my crochet.

Overall I am having a good day. I need to put away the dishes and load the dishwasher before hubby gets home. I have made a bit of a mess today. I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast and had corn on the cob for lunch so I have made dishes. I want things to look half decent for when hubby comes home even though he is not bothered about that. He knows that housework is not one of my strengths.

I hope you are all having a good day. Anybody got anything fun on today?
