Something’s not right

I don’t know what to do

I don’t know what to do

My friend who I have been staying with told me today I should put my big girl panties on and go back to my abuser so to make complaints about her. I have no idea what she was thinking I’m beyond upset. I know the situation is hard and the agent is slack but I have no where to turn or to go. I fear for myself and my dogs. There is no help for my situation the police even told me they probably wouldn’t come. What do I do? It’s 2 months since I’ve been out of my house. I hate it. The lease runs out on march 8 and I had hoped that I could go back after that but the agent has done nothing, she won’t even take my calls.
having some very bad thoughts right now.

@justanotherguy The police won’t help as it’s not classed as domestic violence because we are not in a relationship. I have tried everything but there’s nothing

@NatureLover @EternalFlower @tyme @justanotherguy Thank you all for your support and ideas. I have spoken with legal aid, dv councillor, the local member, the police, ndia, Ndis and anyone else I could think of. My diary is full of useless numbers. My friend has no idea about mental health or abuse issues and now it looks like I might have to live in my car and rehome my dogs. I have no money so can’t even go to a caravan park. I have lost hope

Re: I don’t know what to do

Hi @Sirine , sorry that's not correct, assault is assault, same as if someone assaults you walking down the street. That it happened in your own home is even worse. Please go to the police, and if they won't help, go to the next police station. As I said, assault is assault. If society allowed this to happen most of us would end up homeless.

EDIT: Is there anybody you trust that could go along with you?

Re: I don’t know what to do

@justanotherguy Yes I agree but she has not hit me it’s all been verbal abuse and intimidation. I have been to the police several times and they won’t help as it’s not classed as dv.
thank you for trying to help but there is none for someone like me

Re: I don’t know what to do

Hi @justanotherguy as someone who's attempted to secure safe housing due to problems with an abusive person it is not that simple. Assault is assault but the laws are terrible at protecting people outside of domestic abuse by a partner and even then the housing and support offered is abysmal.

I wouldn't recommend police in this instance it would be more trouble than it's worth
