Something’s not right

I don’t know what to do

I don’t know what to do

My friend who I have been staying with told me today I should put my big girl panties on and go back to my abuser so to make complaints about her. I have no idea what she was thinking I’m beyond upset. I know the situation is hard and the agent is slack but I have no where to turn or to go. I fear for myself and my dogs. There is no help for my situation the police even told me they probably wouldn’t come. What do I do? It’s 2 months since I’ve been out of my house. I hate it. The lease runs out on march 8 and I had hoped that I could go back after that but the agent has done nothing, she won’t even take my calls.
having some very bad thoughts right now.

Re: I don’t know what to do

We have separate leases as it’s a rooming agreement so it doesn’t fall under Rta rules. I have tried everything and there is no help @justanotherguy

@Sirine if it's just you on the lease can you get her evicted?

Re: I don’t know what to do

Fair enough @justanotherguy .

I wasn't aware that you wanted to go back, but you just didn't want the flatmate there.

Could police do anything?

@tyme is there any other support on offer from this service?

Re: I don’t know what to do

@Sirine if this person has assaulted you that should be something you can report to police. If you are paying rent and not causing problems you should be able to live freely in your own residence. Could you make a report with police anyway? You might be surprised and get a positive outcome. Nobody should expect you to confront her on your own.

Re: I don’t know what to do

So sorry hun @Sirine housing is so hard for vulnerable people I really feel you. There isn't much support unless the person is a romantic partner but housemates can be abusive .

Good that you have records.

I was in a similar situation and had to stay somewhere else and the person refused to move out so disrespectful.

I just hope you are safe and can get away from the abuser. Housing is not properly supported for ppl with cPTSD and it's not fair.

@Sirine I'm so sorry for your situation 😞 I really hope the tenant advocate can help. If not, have you tried a local lawyer for free service? Community laywer I mean?
