Smell is triggering

Smell is triggering

Can anyone help me?

Lately I have been smelling cigarette smoke but there is no one smoking. The smell was in my room last night and it triggers one of the abusers. I can smell it so clearly and it reminds me of one of the guys. The smell is so strong. Not sure if this is like hallucinations but with smell instead of seeing something/someone???

How do I overcome this? Why is this happening now? Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?

@Former-Member. I'm well. Tired but well.
How have you been. We haven't spoken for a while.

Hi @utopia

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate your understanding. I have had the horrible experiences of being bombarded with negative internal experiences day in and day out for most of my life so I understand how it is hard to see the light of day. It can feel like it is never going to change. I appreciate the glimpses of change and experiences like I shared and which may bring some sense of hope to others here. I hope the sleep was helpful and restful for you? It sure can change the focus of the issue and I dont think thats a bad thing. My day yesterday went ok, thanks for chatting. Talk again.

Hi @Former-Member

It took a while to sleep last night but I did sleep okay. Awake again at 5am then dozed off again until 7am.

Today is another day, so hoping it will be okay. No triggering smells yesterday which was good.

How are you? Do you have plans for today?

@utopia how are you this morning? Been thinking about you and hope you are okay.

Hi @BlueBay. I'm well. Not a painful week. Just a reflective week. I'm able to sit with that.
Did a quick 5 minute new meditation this morning. Was a bit too short. I like one a bit longer.
Just cleaned out my gutters. Yuk. Now going to clean up my room and vacuum the house before I have a shower.
How is your day going so far?

Re: Smell is triggering

Hi @utopia

I'm okay I guess, just a bit flat today 😞

I am trying to sit and knit but I just can't sit still. So I have just put a load of washing outside, hoping it will dry with the wind. Just put another load on. I am noticing that i am getting bored very easily with whatever i am doing atm. It's really frustrating.

That's great that you are keeping busy, sounds like you are going to be busy for a while.

I so need to do some meditation but at the moment my mind is racing, i dont' think i would be able to sit.

Off to try and do some more knitting.

@BlueBay. I know what you mean. I normally relax by reading. I'm lucky if I've read half a page since last Friday.
I can feel some emotion is about to bubble to the surface. I just hope it's one I can handle.
Yes, I've got a load almost ready to hang on the line.
Heading to my mums for Melbourne cup lunch and race soon. The race doesn't interest me. And to be honest - I'd rather go and sit on my rock up in the mountains today.Instead mum wants a ffamily day. So I'll try and paste a smile on my face and try not to cry..
