I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, I feel like my brain can’t be normal for once. I feel the light fading in my heart fading. I just need a good cry but don’t think I’ll get that opportunity tonight and I don’t know if I remember how. I’m just sinking into this pathetic self pity, lonely, self-loathing and dark hole

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, I used to listen to a lot of really depressing music on MH, suicide, SH, but realised it wasn’t good for my mental health and that I’m better off listening to something like this : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zaKMCOJp67k
I also listen to nature sounds and recitation of the Quran, when I don’t want music.

Do what you can to distract yourself @creative_writer focus on the good in your life. Try and move past it, or sleep until it passes... that works for me. Please take care 🤗

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, i haven’t been listening to as much music lately, I think I was gravitating towards the wrong kind, and I want to go back even though it’s not healthy, but I must resist.
@Paperdaisy, I’ve had dinner, I will probably call it an early night today too.
I’m trying to understand how can someone stop feeling like “damaged goods”.
