Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

I can totally relate to that @creative_writer . I did the same when I was younger. And I cannot think too much about how I feel either. I am very prone to rumination.

In terms of music, I find listening to music with earphones / airpods on really fills my head / mind with sounds and helps give me a focus @Kyle1. I love listening out for each different instrument - trying to focus on them separately in a song. I'm probably a lot older than you but music like Fleetwood Mac and Queen - bands that use a wide range of instruments and techniques to keep the music different and engaging. I also like listening to songs that build up to a crescendo like `Stairway to Heaven' - even just for a few moments I can get lost in music.

What type of music / bands are you drawn to?

I like a lot of older stuff, probably because I'm older stuff, too! 🙂

There's not a lot of instrumentation to the song, but if you used your earpods for Mr Tambourine Man...you may be pleasantly surprised @FloatingFeather

Thanks for the recommendation @Kyle1 - next time I get the air-pods out I will give Mr Tambourine Man a listen!

How does one convince oneself they’re not a failure for falling into the rabbit hole?

I think @creative_writer you begin to accept the fact that the world is a warren, and rabbit holes are inevitable.

But rabbit holes don't just go down... They come up aswell.

@Kyle1 @Captain24, I'm too tired right now. Milder depression in the morning to more intense depression later in the day. I'm just another broken soul.
