Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

@Kyle1, I think I know what you mean. It’s like you need to release all these powerful emotions but don’t feel like talking. I feel like that a lot, and then I feel like I’m emotionally suffocating. Some people find art, dancing, music, walking and exercising helpful. I’ve found scribbling helpful, it get the emotions out, but it never looks pretty, looks like something a toddler drew 🤭.

Some emotions are just like that @creative_writer , aren't they...

Then we have God and divinity on whom we depend for dignity - if only the strength to remember as much would never fade: as the colours from sunbleached sails do...

@Kyle1, we are humans at the end of the day, we naturally drift back and forth on waves, nobody can sustain a constant state of spiritual enlightenment. We can just keep trying, incorporating little things into our daily lives to remind ourselves of God’s hope and mercy.

@Kyle1, I find listening to motivational Muslim speakers and scholars helpful and enlightening. I would think there are motivational Christian speakers out there.

Is there one you might recommend - a Muslim speaker? @creative_writer

I'd be open to listen.

@Kyle1, there is Yasmin Mogahed, she is also a writer. I also like Mufti Menk.

@Kyle1, I am glade you like her.

With how things are going, I am contemplating whether to make a sooner Pdoc appointment, but I don’t want to be needy. I feel so unfunctional, I don’t know if I can go on like this.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

I understand that feeling - not wanting to be needy... But, you've gone on for quite a few days now @creative_writer : taking the next step, if it's seeing your pdoc sooner rather than later, might be the most reasonable thing to do next...

Besides, it's your pdocs job to help with things like this. 👍

Sounds like a good idea to me.
