Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

@Captain24, that’s not true. Sorry haven’t spoken to you much lately. I was in a dump since Melbourne weather changed for the worst. You matter to us 💖🫂

Yes. It's like a meteor strike. For so long it's just something that makes a dazzling streak in the sky; or strikes some obscure forest in far north Siberia.

And the reality of its impact isn't never appreciated until it burns and blazes through your own ceiling...

@Captain24

I reckon we all lose faith and confidence sooner or later...

But it can come back. I hope.

@Kyle1, it’s true we don’t realise how much something affects us until it takes a huge toil on our life. Even the so called “small stressors” add up too.

The small stressors do add up. Like Chinese water torture.

But I'm being told the small tender mercies do, too @creative_writer

@Kyle1, it’s true small mercies add up too, we do often forget about these. Do you know much about SAD lamps? Don’t know if I should try one this winter.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@creative_writer no, I've not heard of SAD lamps. Heard of SAD. I experience SAD. But not any lamp... Is it red light? Can you tell me about this, please?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1, the lamp is designed to replicate sunlight for SAD. I think they also have glasses options available now too.
