Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Thanks @Captain24.

@tyme, 🫂. I wonder if wooziness was an early sign of a migraine coming. I’m also feeling a sense of dread right now since my body doesn’t feel quite right.

I don't like migraines when I get them @creative_writer , but I can't say I can relate to chronic migraines - i don't think I could cope!

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, I’m having a subtle body flashback too, so body doesn’t feel normal, on top of that migraine. My brain is so fried and going down destructive path. I don’t know if I can resist SH, I wish I could say I could, I still blame myself for relapsing, the urge wouldn’t be this strong otherwise. I think I can control the SI for now, at least.

Makes sense @creative_writer - remember, once the pieces of shattered glass are glued back together, you will be worth more than the beginning. Hold onto that hope.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, in the process of glueing those pieces. I know there is a Japanese concept of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is glued with gold and becomes more valuable. It’s just very hard to glue those pieces together since they are scattered everywhere. But I suppose it’s just a gradual process.

Have you been up to much today?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Yes yes! @creative_writer I have certainly read about Kintsugi - it is such a valuable concept.

Today, I've pretty much been hanging around on the forums. I did a bit of reading. Reading youth fiction - a book called Trash - which I want to read to see if it is suitable to read to my niece. She tends to be beyond the themes and concepts of little kids' books so I'm trying to find deeper books for her. But because she's only 7, I have to make sure the themes are suitable!!!

I don't need her coming to ask me about themes beyond her age. Her mother will grill me!

LOL

Did you go anywhere today?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, I feel even kids TV shows are questionable at times. I think kids are being exposed to way too much stuff at a young age now. Your niece sounds like a lil philosopher.

I didn’t go anywhere today. I haven’t been out since Friday. I had lunch out on Friday, from Vietnamese restaurant. Been at home this weekend trying to catch up on uni, classes start tom. I have at least done the prep work for tom’s class, but I didn’t absorb all the readings, but then, how many of us do before the tute? It was better than nothing, I got a bit out of it. I can work on my attention span, I feel like mine has shrunk to what is expected from young kids lol.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Lol @creative_writer ,

I don't think i EVER read anything before lectures and tutes... I was working at the time at so that took precedence... I ended cramming readings towards the end of the course... that's if I did the readings!

I hope uni gives you a break from your thoughts.

I'll be off now, but hope to speak mid week sometime.

Please take care.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, yeah, not everyone does the readings and modules before the class. Some of our units do require us to complete questions in modules for participation. I sure hope I can keep up to speed, rushing through the module at the end of the semester to make sure I’ve done everything can be hectic.

Good night. Will speak to you soon 🙂
