❤ @Former-Member

It was Winstom Churchill who said, "When you're going through hell ..... keep going ...,. !!"

Just breathe ..... some days it's enough to just breathe ...,, just keep walking .... other families are going through this ..... we are here walking with you .....

Pls call Lifeline - 13 11 14 - and talk to a counsellor for a while.

Things won't stay on this page. I have had to let go of my husband .... relinquish the fullness of our relationship to his illness for the moment .... but it's only for the moment .... there will be a new day .....

Walking with you ...., sending you love .., rest ..,,, breathe ...

Re: 😢

@Former-Member, don't want to seem to be negate your pain but please try not to get ahead of yourself. Its important you have faith and believe in what you can't see too sometimes. We don't want to suffer before its necessary. Try not to give up in your heart. But I do hear you need to find a way to separate yourself from it emotionally, without giving up the love. This takes superhuman strength but remember, "while there is life there is hope" Distract your thoughts today, by putting hand to task, big hug

Re: 😢

I know it sounds trivial @OverRheEdge, but make yourself a cup of tea with a spoonful of sugar in it .. it will help to counter the physical symptoms of shock.

Is there anyone there with you ?

Re: 😢

My husband is here with me @Faith-and-Hope - but he is distant, going through the same turmoil. Daughter's phone was stolen and we are not even sure what she is doing, where her car is (which we may need to drive to it and her, and goodness knows how we will do that in this state). It is hell on so many levels and this has been going on for about 5 years now. I would have some tea but I can't hold anything down or in. Thank you for your support @Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member - it's helping. I don't know if I can take this anymore

Re: 😢

Make the tea anyway @Former-Member ..... wrap both hands gently around it on the table in front of you, careful not to burn yourself .... and let the warmth reach through to your soul ...... you need comfort in this moment more than anything else ..... and that little cup of tea will provide you something akin to human touch .... believe me .....

Let the scent of the tea in ..... just sit with it there, and breathe ..... it will help your husband to do the same .....

We are walking with you. Just sit. The car, daughter's phone, everything else can wait. This moment is for you .... breathe ....

Re: 😢

The adrenolin needs to settle down @Former-Member, can you go for a walk? Or a swim? Get some of that energy out. If it was me I'd either watch a fast action movie grr, but I think I'd probably go to bed a couple of hours. Can you sip ice? Its such a shock & horrible sencebof 'out of control' but right now, in your home, your body is safe, try focus on you're immediate surroundings in detail. Grounding can include strong smells, deep breaths, bright colours and touching different textures.
Keep posting, we're here for you 🙂

Re: 😢

Thank you @Former-Member

I am walking around in a numb state and did some washing. But have terrible stomach pains and cant keep anything down. My husband said it's shock and aadded it was understable. Just feel so alone with this and need to talk it through with someone.

Its just the tip of the iceberg - we are not sure where she is or what she is doing. We are waiting on her to phone us as her mobile was stolen and we can't ring her. The anxiety of if she is safe or not is horrendous. I am not sure if we can do any more for her than we already have so feel helpless. And seeing what it is doing to my husband is heightening the distress. Feel I am losing everything and can't understand why. Shock

Re: 😢

It is really lovely to see everyone come together to help and support another member.

@Former-Member, even though you have your husband with you, it is often helpful to talk to someone outside of the situation for some support. Other than SANE, calling LifeLine on 13 11 14 or BeyondBlue on 1300 22 4636 may be really useful for this situation.

Take care,

Jac

Re: 😢

@Former-Member, feelings are rarely in proportion with the facts, try keep things in perspective. I was reminded recently by the Dr how our gut is very linked in with the psychy / emotions - nausea, diarrhoea, acid, burping, flatulance, spasms, constipation... are all well kniqn stress responses, to divert energy to vital organs & major muscles. Its anxiety. You've done everything you know to do, and i sense strong compassion fatigue, but you still love your daughter as part of your flesh. You're having a 'fight flight' response with nowhere to place all that energy yet. Pacing around the house usn't such a bad thing. Your body will let you know when to rest. Deep long breaths xox
