Severe depression

Severe depression

Hello, I'm new and I'm not in a good way. I have had a life of abuse and neglect and I'm now 50. I have had enough of medication and the fat pharma lies. I have no interest in life and the only 1 person that keeps me going is my beautiful daughter. Living is a misery and all joy has gone. I can't eat have no energy but somehow force myself to keep going otherwise I will be put on a mental health order and last time had 26 ECT which has left terrible side effects, 4 months in the psych ward and significant weight gain from the drugs i was made to take. I have no friends and no support but I am getting a mental health care plan in the morning and I'm determined to get right. Does anybody else feel this way?@

Hugs @Lioness72 ,

We care for you. Please reach out if you need it. Not only for your daughter but for yourself.

Not sure if righting out a few points to discuss with your psychologist will help. But seeing it is the first session, it’s probably just a feel for where things are at.

I hope the psychologist is a good fit.

Fingers crossed.

Re: Severe depression

Hi @Lioness72

I just wanted to reach out & say hello. Gosh, the last 2 days my anxiety has been skyrocketing - I don't feel in a good head space to support you. Only in the sense that I understand that you are feeling alone & fragile. I didn't feel confident that I would say the right thing. I'm still not!

Really, I wanted to say you are not alone.

I have been going through a very similar situation over the past few months. Fortunately, things have calmed down, however, the trauma lingers. I'm hypersensitive & wondering how long I have before it all blows up again.

I spoke with 1800RESPECT. I believe, for me - they were complete saviours. They didn't judge me at all. They listened & had amazing insight into what I was experiencing. The responses they gave me, actually taught me about who I was. I am also now linked in with other services.

I am in Victoria - there is an organisation called safe steps, I'm not sure if they are national.

They can actually find you temporary accommodation (I think it is usually a hotel) You can take your pets (I have cats too❤️)

I understand that this is an extremely stressful option.

I wanted to share with you, my experience & how much support is available for people who experiencing family violence.

Well done starting your meds❤️ & you are doing amazing by continually asking for help on here.

I hope you know you are cared about.

I have managed to stay out of bed most of the day cause I'm still not great with covid. Not having a great time and it's so close to Christmas. What is all about

Re: Severe depression

Hi @Lioness72 I'm happy to hear from you & see you continuing to express what is going on for you right now.

I don't know what it's all about?❤️ Yes, I have these thoughts too... Why is this happening to me? What could I possibly learn from this? What the heck is going on here??

It sounds cliche, but I believe around this time of year - our emotions are more intense. It's like their is an unspoken expectation on us - or it's a time of year when we compare ourselves to one another. Who has a nice family to attend Christmas with etc etc. Perhaps, it was part of our childhood programming - comparing what we presents we got with other children at school... Who got the best present?

I believe we need to try & push through, over this hump & by January things will feel a whole lot calmer. 🤞

Tomorrow you begin counselling? Please tell them how concerned you feel about the weight gain.

I did read how much you gained previously (before it was **) I think that's a legitimate concern you are having. It's possible there is a solution we are currently unaware of?

I think you are being hugely brave & proactive ❤️👍

I believe this difficult time will become better for you. My goodness, covid! On top of everything!

What are you plans for Christmas?

I will be staying home. It will be me and my housemate (we are going thru very difficult patch) We have a turkey - that I will roast. No decorations this year. I will be saying a prayer for all the people who are hurting & doing it tough ❤️xx
