Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

Thank you! It's nice to be learning new things. I used to hate trying new things and actually avoided it. But now I kinda love putting time and energy into it. even if it doesn't work great hehe. Do you do have any hobbies or things you enjoy like this?

And I'm so sorry work was so boring again @Birdofparadise8. What are you doing tonight?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Not crafty but I dance ballet and go for walks and I like reading.

My pop has come over for dinner so that is nice. It will help keep my mind off things. I’m struggling a bit tonight but I always am which is very annoying. @Former-Member

Hi @Captain24, @Birdofparadise8, @Former-Member, @Shaz51 and anyone else on. I hope you are all doing well 💖.

Been a bit sick today, so just recovering. And I also got triggered during my psych appointment.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I relate to that feeling of feeling like I struggle a lot. It sounds like connecting with others like your pop is a good distraction ❤️

How did the SANE chat go last night?

And heya @creative_writer ❤️ Sorry about being triggered, it is so difficult. Is there a strategy you can use to help bring yourself to a more "regulated" place?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah it sucks so much. It was good I really needed it. I really seem to need professional support online or via the phone nearly everyday at this stage it’s just all getting so overwhelming and I’m so sad all the time @Former-Member I just don’t see how I’m improving when I feel like I am getting worse.

Sorry to hear your sick @creative_writer.

@Birdofparadise8sitting with you 💖

@Former-Member 💖I’m going to do self soothing things, and have dinner. Migraine isn’t fun to have, I feel like it makes you more reactive to triggers too. Something about todays session was hard because it brought something to the surface, i won’t mention what it was because I don’t want anyone to feel triggered and I don’t want to put myself in a vulnerable position. I did speak to SANE just now which helped a bit.

I'm glad speaking to sane before helped @creative_writer ❤️ Sitting with you

and @Birdofparadise8, I think I understand why it's hard to see progress when you're "in it" and still feel like you're getting worse. I know for me, I often felt frustrated because I wasn't making progress fast enough. And even when I "took steps back". I'm sure this won't help with the actual problem, but it's such a common things you're experiencing. And there are ways to get through it. You could even post a new thread asking people what they think?

And, not sure if this is helpful, when I hit a plato or took some steps back, I talked with my therapist about it. We looked at what kind of things we could change including the kind of therapy we did. I found it to helpful.

Also, personally, I think it's a real strength that you're drawing on these supports most/everyday. Do you think you would have done that at the start of your healing journey?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Mmm okay I don’t think I am making any progress I’m just so in it at the moment and I feel like I’m losing the battle.

I am just waiting to hear back from a clinic near the uni for some help they have psychologist, nurses, social workers and peer support workers.

Yeah maybe I’ll have a think @Former-Member

Well actually I didn’t even know of SANE or ReachOut in July last year. I have over the years periodically spoken to Kids Helpline and Eheadspace.

I am so greatful for the help and support on here, the GS, the drop in line and then the peer chat through ReachOut not sure if you have heard of it it’s for people my age @Former-Member

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Former-Member 💖. Just had dinner, it made a bit of a difference to my migraine at least.

@Birdofparadise8 💖 it is a common experience for it to take a while to find the supports you need, navigating mental health is hard. Once you find the supports, it takes time to recover. I’ve been seeing my psych for more than two years and still have tons to work through. Recovery length is very individual. You are doing all the right things, reaching out for help when needed and looking for long term supports too. You are doing more than you realise. You chose to keep fighting.

Hi @Shaz51 nice to see you 💖
