Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Big hugs BP. I know what skeletal pain feels like. I had osteoporosis. Go gentle with your good self.

Re: Not Coping

@Shaz51 I feel for you, having arthritis. I have it in my fingers which is bad enough, I can't imagine the pain you deal with having arthritis in your hip.

Is there anything you have tried that helps? A friend of mine uses turmeric spray, she highly recommends it.

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I mean, if you want different things, isn't it healthier to be trying to see those needs met than to have one person suppressing a feeling of discomfort? I would hate to find out that a friend was forcing themself to spend time with me even when they'd prefer to just see me in a group context. Not saying it's easy, or that feelings of rejection are invalid, just that it may be better for both of you, at least for the time being. Perhaps they'll change their mind down the track.

Well if you feel better afterwards, that sounds like catharsis. So wait was your psych trying to encourage you not to write emails when distressed, you're saying? My approach to this kind of thing is to utilise drafts. So like, by all means write the email whilst your emotions are heightened, but just wait a day or two and review before sending - usually when I do this I end up editing stuff to be more in line with my 'wise mind', and can better identify areas where I am being reactive instead of responsive.

Haha nah I won't re-wash it (I don't have a washing machine lol I have to go to friend's houses, wayyyy too much effort), it'll probably just take the rest of winter to dry properly 🤣

Re: Not Coping

I guess that is true. I just don't know where he would be getting a group from as he only hangs out with me or people when he goes drinking. I haven't even opened the message I don't know what to say.

I'll give you an example.

So if I were to post something on here that was distressing, and then you email me and say XYZ, I would say, oh, I'm not distressed, but you think I am because of what I've said. In turn, we both get confused, and I'm left to tell my psych how I said this and how it was interpreted a specific way. So what he was thinking is that maybe I don't realise I am distressed and what I am saying is actually distressing. Does that make sense @Jynx?

Oh, is yours broken?

@Jynx that's what the backs of chairs are for - hanging damp clothes!!

I have shirts, socks and jeans on hangers throughout the house during winter, plus a mini wooden rotary clothes airer that comes out in June every year. I bought it 20 years ago, best 20 bucks I ever spent!
