Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

@Birdofparadise8 different strategies work better for some people than others. You will need to find what suits you. Maybe even coming up with a list of how you can self-soothe with your psych might help. That way, if you are not able to get in touch with someone, you can do things to ease the anxiety

Good evening @Birdofparadise8

Sounds like you've had a tough day? How are you now?

Re: Not Coping

Hmmm, that sounds like a lot of things I struggle to do.

I do the breathing exercises, and I might try to exercise, watch TV, listen to music, etc.

Punching a pillow is a good one. Sometimes I get feeling like I want to punch something.

When you say emotions are physical, how is that with sadness because I literally can not describe it? I'm just sad, and that's it. @Jynx

HI @Blackbird11

I'm happy to see you here.

Yeah, well, just a few points of being triggered or making myself distressed over not getting replies. I'm assuming you've been catching up with the posts about both.

How are you?

Re: Not Coping

Yes, I had a quick look to catch up @Birdofparadise8

Triggers are tough, having strategies to cope are pivitol. I have PRN available for me. I also focus on breathing and positive self talk.

Waiting for replies causes me anxiety. I use positive self talk and remind myself that people are busy and that it's good to be patient. I get worried when there's an unusal length of time in a response.

Re: Not Coping

Yes, they can be @Blackbird11

when you say PRN, like anti-anxiety meds? I have a sleep med as a PRN ish, but I don't want to go to sleep in the middle of the day. Why would I want that?

Positive self-talk. Can you imagine me being able to do that? Hahaha, no, I'm not good at it.

Yeah, you get anxious, too.

It's so annoying I know people are busy but I just can't get past the thought that people don't want to talk to me or feelings of rejection.

Re: Not Coping

I don't think we can talk about meds on here. It's medication that I take when I need it does that help?

Positive self talk takes practice, I still don't get it right now. Some situations are hard to rationalise for me, that's when I seek support.

Is there any evidence people don't want to talk or people rejecting you?

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 I struggled to do them too hun - that's what I mean about it being a skill! The first time we ride a bike, we usually fall off. And the second time, and maybe the third - but we get right back on the bike and keep practicing till we get it.

Depends on the source of the sadness to be honest - if it's because of a recent event, it sits heavy in the chest, squeezes my throat, it's very... substantially present. If it's more the sadness I used to feel all the time as almost like... a baseline, it was far more like emptiness, a void, a hole in the chest. That sadness I think was the despair of self-loathing and lack of belief in myself.

Emotions are so weird... Anywho, I am logging off so I will bid you goodnight! Always happy to share my experiences so I hope they've been helpful for you and anyone else reading along 💜

Toodles!
