Psychologist

Psychologist

Hi everyone, @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Peregrinefalcon @Jynx @PossumSocks @NatureLover

Hope your all well.

I’ve just had the worst start to my week yesterday I found out that I can’t see my psychologist anymore as she is moving on to another job at the uni. I have a psychologist I’ve been doing a cognitive assessment with so hopefully I can see him. I have an appointment with both of them on Thursday so I’ll find out what going to happen. I can’t believe this has happened though like I’m happy she has got a new job. I just feel a bit sad about it knowing how hard it is to open up to people and to have to go through that again is just annoying. Anyway thanks for letting me vent I needed this.

Re: Psychologist

Yes this kind of boundary can certainly raise a lot of spiraling questions. Is there something you can do right now as a distraction??

Do you like games?? We could play 20 questions?? @Birdofparadise8

But if she is afraid of losing me why shut me out like I'm kind of spiraling myself now with what to think. @tyme

I'll just have to work something out I guess.

@Birdofparadise8 - she may be shutting you out because she can bear to hear how challenging things are.

Have you heard of the 'avoidant' personality? I was very much that way inclined...it's taken a lot of therapy and work to get me to a stage where I can face learn to face some of the things that challenge me. Trust me, it's not an easy thing.

Kindest, tyme

Re: Psychologist

Yes @tyme and @Birdofparadise8 , I would like to know more about avoidant personality too!!

And 20 questions is.....

Someone thinks of an object/thing and the others are allowed to ask 20 yes or no questions to guess what it is. For example

Is it a man made object? No

Is it an animal? Yes

Is it bigger than a microwave? No

Does it have feathers? No

Does it have scales? No

Is it a mouse? Yes

You can go first if you want @Birdofparadise8 ?
