Psychologist

Psychologist

Hi everyone, @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Peregrinefalcon @Jynx @PossumSocks @NatureLover

Hope your all well.

I’ve just had the worst start to my week yesterday I found out that I can’t see my psychologist anymore as she is moving on to another job at the uni. I have a psychologist I’ve been doing a cognitive assessment with so hopefully I can see him. I have an appointment with both of them on Thursday so I’ll find out what going to happen. I can’t believe this has happened though like I’m happy she has got a new job. I just feel a bit sad about it knowing how hard it is to open up to people and to have to go through that again is just annoying. Anyway thanks for letting me vent I needed this.

Oooooo @Birdofparadise8 !

Ballet! That's so awesome! I love watching ballets. Forget about ballet dancing for me though...lol

Do you find dancing a stress reliever?

Re: Psychologist

Ballet??? @Birdofparadise8 That is sooooo cool!! How long have you been doing this?

Tv sounds like a good chill out session. I just moved this week and am having trouble with my internet. I have a smart tv so can't watch anything!! Miss my chill time. Watching from the phone is not the same.

Re: Psychologist

I actually am just starting the guided service so that will be interesting. Yeah I’ve been doing ballet for 5 years and it’s my last year at my current school as I’m be moving interstate next year. I’m just going to watch some YouTube as my parents want to watch the watcher is was a bit creep and I don’t want to be triggered again. @Former-Member @tyme

Good on you @Birdofparadise8 !

I'm happy to hear you are utilising the guided service. In between, you can also use our drop-in line 🙂

Last year of school, eh? Tough?

My sister was a ballet teacher. Completed all her ballet examinations...

Me? I was a martial arts kid instead lol

Actually I’m in my first year of uni I just don’t like the University of Tasmania it’s not very good and they aren’t accredited with Dietitians Australian as I’m waiting to be a dietitian.

Guess what I been did karate for 7 years it was very difficult to be graceful and tough at the same time and in ballet we need to have out feet turned out and in karate I had to have them in parallel so that made things confusing sometimes. @tyme

Re: Psychologist

So so true about the footwork @Birdofparadise8 !

I was doing salsa dancing the other day, and the footwork drives me bonkers. I have to concentrate so hard that it becomes my mindfulness task!

Re: Psychologist

Ah okay but now for me it a bit like muscle memory after doing it for a few years. @tyme salsa dancing sounds fun did you enjoy it.

Re: Psychologist

I enjoyed how I had to focus on something. My brain moves so quickly that I never stay focused on one thing long enough.

Salsa dancing is so therapeutic... (maybe because there's no mirrors in the room!) @Birdofparadise8

Re: Psychologist

Ok cool in ballet where I go there are mirrors everywhere so theres no where to hide. @tyme

Re: Psychologist

That's the point @Birdofparadise8 . Mirrors are there to critique your own dancing!

Thank goodness mine is a lesson run by local communities who hire a room...

hence the 'no mirrors' is actually a lifesaver! If anyone watched me dance, they'd need to be resuscitated!
