where have the mods been

Great to hear @Peregrinefalcon There needs to be a consistent approach in all aspects of the forum - especially moderation. It is hard for everyone to be on the same page as we are all individuals but having very clear guidelines for all mods to follow would be great. This is now a new 'problem' but I am pleased to hear you are going to be dealing with it in upcoming training.

Another question regarding moderation - has the Flag for Moderator function been fixed on the drop down box? There was an issue with this not working and thus moderators on duty not seeing there was an issue with a post and/or member. I wanted to especially highlight this as it is the first port of call when something is posted against our guidelines and/or we are concerned about a member - as emails are not always seen immediately.

Hi @Gwynn I can empathise here with you not hearing anything. I can say there has been some unexpected changes of roles at SANE and whilst that is no excuse, it may be a reason your response is delayed. I am in a similar position with waiting for questions to be answered (over 2 months now) but am also aware that our new Community Managers are still finding their feet in their new roles. I do agree though that your email should have been replied to by now and hope this is done quickly. I am going to tag in our Community Managers here @Peregrinefalcon @Jynx to be able to look into what is happening for you.

It was replied to, but I asked that the complaint be escalated and have not received any further communications.

@Zoe7 @Gwynn Yes there has been a lot of inconsistencies lately especially around responding by the moderators and then also how the guidelines are being applied seems random and unpredictable and I personally find it very hard to play by rules when they keep changing and no one is even telling me they changed. @Peregrinefalcon is there going to be a response to my post about mental health week or are we just trying to let that thread fade out on its own? I understand every individual at sane is trying their best but perhaps there are some structural issues that need to be addressed I am not sure.

Very much want to acknowledge that there have been inconsistencies, and that the lack of responses and lack of clarity can be incredibly frustrating. I apologise to all who have been impacted by this.

@Eden1919, first off I willI have a look into the MHW post, as @Peregrinefalcon won't be back until next week. Secondly, you are not alone in having noticed inconsistencies and it is something we are very much focusing on at the moment. If you are open to it, it would be very valuable for us to know about these experiences - where in particular you notice inconsistencies, what kinds of posts they're related to, and if you have any examples to share feel free to link them. This will greatly aid us in developing targeted training for our moderation team. @Eden1919 Really sorry about that - we actually had a system issue over the weekend that interrupted our usual moderation processes - my understanding is it was resolved Monday. I'll be looking more into the underlying issues and other concerns and feedback raised about the forums with my team this week.
