Something’s not right

Feeling low, worthless and defeated.

Feeling low, worthless and defeated.

I can get any access to health services that I need.
I have had the worst experience with GP’s. They treat me like trash because my mental health condition is to much and to scary for them.
You would think that GP’s would show some compassion for people who have trauma related dissociative disorders but apparently not. Apparently it’s to freaky and it makes them uncomfortable.

I have not been able to get access to healthcare from a GP for over two years and they will not let me in there without a face mask these days anyway. They do not care that it triggers me and that I have trauma and a mental health condition which is suppose to make me exempt.

healthcare is totally useless. There is no good trauma GPS and no psychologist who take referrals from GP’s any more. Even the emergency department in the hospital system won’t help. If the problem is psychiatric they send you home and tell you to visit your GP (who are useless). They do not care if you have lost sense of reality and can not function. And for psychiatrists and psychologist the waiting list are so long and that’s even if you can get on a waiting list.

I feel defeated. I have tried everything and called everywhere. I keep getting passed around.

just feel so sad and pathetic and defeated. I don’t feel like there is a place in this system for me.

Hey @TinTin1.

sorry for some reason I missed your messages earlier.

I am not homeless and I am circumstantially safe (even though my mind and body think differently). Otherwise those suggestions would have been great. Thank you very much for trying to help 😊.

Yes that’s correct, just want a GP that will help me.

Re: Feeling low, worthless and defeated.

@Little_Leopard I actually just went and seen the gp that my step dad was seeing. He always spoke very highly of her, she was always really thorough and gave him the time of day.

i had had 2 previously really bad experiences with gps that I had been seeing before when reaching out for support in regards to my eating disorder.

when seeing my new gp for the first time I was blown away with how kind she was, she was willing to drop everything for me (and still is) and did a thorough assessment and has linked me in with so many supports. We tried the PHN, but it wasn’t a good fit for me.

i know they are really hard to find, but I hope you find the right gp for you @Little_Leopard and that they are really knowledgeable and can link you in with all the supports that you need.

Hey @Bow

@wow that worked out really well for you. What you have sounds like a dream come true. It gives me hope and something to strive for. I am realising that the quality of care is a major factor. Health practitioners have to care about what they are doing if they want to really help people. I am starting to feel like maybe I do deserve good health care so that’s a nice shift for me to.

I have been asking everybody (literally) because that’s how desperate and determined I am.

I may have a good lead and have booked an appointment with a GP on the other side of town. Crossing my fingers!

Re: Feeling low, worthless and defeated.

Of course you deserve good quality health care @Little_Leopard !

wondering if you are on Facebook and part of local community groups from where you live? That’s always a good option to ask on there for recommendations for gps. I see it all the time.

hope the appointment goes well!

Thanks @Bow

@I have Facebook but am not part of any group. I would not even know we’re to start looking for a group like that.
