Our coping toolbox 🧰

Our coping toolbox 🧰

Hey forumites,

This is a post inspired by the wonderful @Shaz51 who created a similar post in the carers forum.

So, what do you when everything feels like too much, you’re worried, feeling down, annoyed or just generally yuck???

While these self-care strategies might not solve everything all at once, but they remind us that there are things we can do to bring us back down to earth when things feel like too much.

And remember, it's a toolbox for a reason. Sometimes a spanner won't do the job, so we need to try a hammer! What that means, is sometimes we need to try a few different strategies to find the right one for a job. And that's ok. So I can't wait to look through here when my usual strategies aren't working.

Tagging out CGs to kick-start the convo!

@Jynx

I really should be doing some preparation for an assessment at Tafe but I really can’t concentrate. I just emailed my lecturer about it in case I have to ask for an extension

Hi Shazzy,

Thanks for your suggestions.

I just feel really tired.

The medication probably didn’t help with that. Hopefully I can get some work done later

Oh very good idea @Oaktree in flagging it! I find little things like that can help me feel like I have a 'safety net' if things do get worse... which often helps in ensuring that they don't!

I think you're allowed to write off today as a study day and maybe focus on doing something silly, creative, or enriching instead!
