Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

You should be so proud of yourself @creative_writer. I know that it wouldn't have been easy for you to finish your assignment yesterday and you pushed through anyway - well done!

I know some days it does feel really hard and its a struggle (I been there too) but I also know from my own lived experience life can also be enjoyable with golden nuggets along the way. You absolutely deserve to be happy and you are so worthy.

Good luck with your next assignment, one down and one more to go. You're getting there 🙂

@FloatingFeather todays been a weird one so far. Have tons of energy, feel super wired, agitated but still feel really depressed. My mood is seriously out of whack. I can’t concentrate my mind is going a million miles per hour and I am so easily distracted. My head feels really heavy too. I guess this high energy state isn’t good for migraines. I called mental health triage but gave up too soon only because I’ve found it a hit and miss whenever I’ve used it. I don’t want to have to wait half an hour just for it to not help. I am in a darker room right now, because the light is aggravating my migraine and agitation.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

It sounds like you have a lot of emotions going on today @creative_writer. I think you might be right about the high energy potentially impacting your migraine. Has the darker room helped? I understand what you mean around a darker room - I don't get migraines very often but when I do I can't stand light.

I understand about the hit and miss around triage but if you continue to feel this way do you think you might try giving them another call today?

I really hope you start to feel better soon.

@FloatingFeather migraines can feel icky. I have my blinds down, and all my screens are dimmed and set to night mode. I may give them another call if things don't get better. I'm going to have a shower now and hope it clears my head. I also massaged an oil mix which has lavender and peppermint into my hair so really don't want to lie down in bed with it on.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

That sounds like a really good plan @creative_writer. A hot shower, darkened space and lavender and peppermint oil is the way I would deal with a migraine too. It's good to know you can also reach out to triage if you need to today.

Hopefully you can get a good sleep and your migraine will lift soon.

Sending hugs,

FloatingFeather

@FloatingFeather took a shower and called triage, feel a bit better now. I have a long way to go for recovery and it feels so overwhelming. I hope one day I can get through the day and not have to think about SA when I wake up and before I go to sleep.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Anyone tried so hard to minimise discomfort for other people by trying to avoid talking about taboo, like SA and paid with your physical and mental health? I still feel guilty talking about it. It’s like I’m not supposed to talk about it. Maybe it’s also cultural, my mum never really had the talk with me and was pretty much left to my own devices to learn about things. I reckon my past trauma has made the pre-existing mood disorder, social anxiety worse and has caused a sense of isolation.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

I really want to go into mental health and want to be able to work without being triggered. I just hope I am able to attain it. My volunteer work experience in the mental health sector has been enjoyable and rewarding. Things went downhill after one intense call and haven't been able to pick myself up since then and had to take some time off, I don't know how long it will be for.

Having a nighttime spiral. I think I’ll be lucky if I make it out the next few days alive.

What's making you say that tonight @creative_writer ?

Please reach out if you feel the need to. It is important you get the support you deserve. Although it might be difficult tonight, it doesn't mean it will stay that way forever. It WILL shift.

I'm here if you want to chat about it.
