Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@tyme timing is key.

I hate this need I keep getting. I don't want to need someone to hold me and let me cry on them. I need to feel safe. Is it possible to get rid of this need?

Hey @creative_writer I think wanting to feel safe is a reasonable thing. I'm sorry this is causing you distress 💝

@Paperdaisy ❤️. I fear being too needy. But I just want someone there to hold me while I work through the chaos in my mind.

I think that is a perfectly natural human need @creative_writer You deserve that. Everyone deserves love 💝 I love this wrapped up heart emoji cause I think we are all just fragile hearts needing some care.

@Paperdaisy 💞 I think I need to let myself break down tonight when I go to bed.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Former-Member my psych explored my childhood today. I didn’t use to feel safe and comfortable around people. Like I didn’t feel like I belonged. I guess not having that stability made it hard for form relationships. I moved around, moved schools and was bullied. I feel like not feeling safe got activated more too after experiences with SA as an adult. It’s kind of been a cumulative effect.

heya @creative_writer, sounds like it was a really big session today. Have you got anything planned for self-care this arvo?

And I really relate to what you said here. I moved around so much as a kid, never really had close friends (I still don't have many!) and always felt like a bit of an outsider. Thing in my adult life added to the "cumulative effect" you mentioned. And I'm not sure if this resonates with you, but with hindsight, it's really impacted my sense of identity because I think I was trying to be what other people wanted me to be.

I'm here to talk about it if it's useful ❤️

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Former-Membermaking close friends was always hard for me. It's hard to go through a lot of heavy stuff alone. I could not reach out to my loving parents for support because I don't know if they were equipped to handle it. My mum has her own anxiety issues too. I was the oldest sibling so was responsible for my sister and brother. I feel like experiences in childhood and adulthood often have a cumulative effect, even experiences that we consider less traumatising can affect us. I suppose bullying in childhood is often overlooked because it's a smaller trauma, but it can add up if it happens chronically. The session just made me realise how much it's affected me. I've been so focused on healing the SA experiences in adulthood.

❤️
