Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@PeregrinefalconI just contacted SANE drop in and found it helpful to talk through things. Had to be really cautious about what I spoke about to prevent further triggering. Trauma is hard to talk about, it can bring up so many emotions, and if you are not ready, it can be hard to contain. It really does hurt to have gone through something so traumatic 😢. At least the SI eased after the call, it feels more manageable to keep myself safe.

❤️

O @creative_writer - hugs to you. Are you still out, eating? Or are you home now?

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@tyme I’m on the way home. Maybe I opened wounds too quickly. I just blurted things out without thinking. I know therapy is a safe place, my Monday psych appointment was intense. I know SANE helpline is a safe place (I blurted out stuff during yesterday). And now I am feeling intense sense of loss and sadness from past SA.

I'm interested to hear more about this 'loss' you are feeling @creative_writer . I would have thought that a problem shared is a problem halved. Not judging or anything. I'm just sitting in a curious space. So interested to know about what it is bringing up for you - rather than the content of the discussion itself.

Only if you feel up to sharing.

@tyme I think it might be more to do with a certain aspect of the trauma clicking in my brain. I don’t know if that makes sense. It’s not that I felt judged. It’s hard to explain without being explicit so I’ll leave it at that.

That's okay. @creative_writer . I just want you to know you are not alone. Much has happened which was not your fault and should have never happened.

We are sitting with you.

Hugs, tyme

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@tyme it’s been hard to sit with things. I don’t even know why it’s taken me so long to process what happened. Like I’ve been realising more and more aspects. Maybe I disassociated too much before that memories felt more fuzzy. But memories feel sharper than they used to. Maybe more got stored inside me than I realised and now it’s coming out.

Sending a hug back 💗

I somehow believe so too @creative_writer . I believe we often disconnect from hurt in order to survive. Hence, when it does resurface, it can be months or even years later.

Perhaps this is the body's coping mechanism kicking in?

I feel that is what has happened to me too.
