Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@NatureLover and @Peregrinefalcon ❤️❤️

I was panicking a lot in the morning too, it happens whenever I feel those uncomfortable body sensations. Like I’m not sure what to say about it. It just brings up so many emotions. I wish it didn’t happen so much. Though my body feel more relaxed now, went for a walk with my psychosocial worker and took a shower.

@NatureLover I hope to talk to my psychologist about it next week. It’s become a very frequent thing lately.

I'm sad to hear you're panicking a lot lately @creative_writer 😞

I hope the discussion with your psych helps...

@NatureLover ❤️ talking to my psych did help a bit.

Thoughts have started getting worse 😔. I feel so trapped and alone. I feel like a failure, like I’m supposed to have my shit together but don’t. I’m afraid of burdening my friends, and my family is conservative, so talking about what’s happening with me is very hard, especially when it’s considered taboo. I think being physically unwell hasn’t been helping, and waiting for stronger hay fever medication to get to me. I am safe right now. Don’t know what else to do. Already tried to reach out to Lifeline. I wish SANE counselling services was open today.

I'm so sorry to hear how you are feeling. It's so hard to feel alone, but then to struggle to reach out to friends for fear of being a burden. There are lots of people who care about you here on the forums, so please keep connecting with others here if it is helpful.

I'm sorry you couldn't get through to Lifeline. It's so important to talk to someone about how you're feeling, so here are some other numbers to try as well. I have also sent you an email to check in.

Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling

Samaritans: 135 247

Thank you for letting us know you're safe. Keep looking after yourself tonight @creative_writer 💜

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

So sorry you feel like this @creative_writer .

Know that I’m here with you, you are not alone. Reading your post it was like I had written it. The only difference is the hay fever part! But I do understand that too.

I can’t give you any words of wisdom as I’m sitting in a similar place. I feel that maybe hospital would be the safest place however that would mean telling my family and they will be really critical, demeaning and totally not understanding. Also it would be held against me forever. So I have to struggle through ‘alone’.

My friends tell me it’s ok I’m not a burden but it is hard. But just think that they would rather you burden them than the alternative.

@Former-Member I did get through into the queue with Lifeline, I mean it may have helped a bit, but I still feel distressed. It tends to be a hit and miss a lot of the time with many of the helplines, it can be quite demotivating sometimes. Like it takes so much effort to reach out and talk. I suppose I could try another service like suicide call back service, haven't tried them today.

@Captain24 I think it's very hard when family don't understand, especially if you are around them a lot. My parents are immigrants so grew up in a totally different culture where mental health wasn't so openly discussed, and having a good reputation is so heavily emphasised. I am glade that there are services available for people who struggle with suicidal thoughts. But it hard being around family sometimes because you have to pretend you are doing well when you're not.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

My family are just very judgemental @creative_writer . I also see them pretty much daily. The faking it is hard.

I hope you can get some support tonight. Please stay safe

I’ve called online before and they just tell you the same thing. Sometimes it helps and other times not. I’ve never tried SCBS though.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Captain it can be really hard to be around judgmental people. I think many of us long to be understood but it can be hard to find that. The quote, “I feel as if I'm made to understand but not to be understood,” is my life. Stay safe and hope you are able to have a restful night. Just about to go to sleep, tomorrow is another day.
