I have had the most awesome phone call with my CM. We ended the call with me feeling calm with everything that is happening in the next 4 days. Obviously not Angel this afternoon but this is a ‘normal’ response.
My anxiety has settled a lot. It’s still there but not as bad. I have got this. Yes, I’m going to have to mask it all for the coming days and it’s going to be exhausting. We have come up with a plan for Sunday afternoon when it’s all over.
We talked about my garden being colourful. That watering it twice a day gives me a little structure. One or maybe 2 of the plants have died but, instead of me telling myself I have failed. I have focused on the fact that most of my plants a thriving or doing ok. Im just going to dig the dead ones out and replace them. She said that they are hard to establish and she can’t grow them. Im now determined to show her I can even though I’m not a gardener. She also said that me choosing bright plants and that I’m enjoying how it looks means that my life isn’t all doom and gloom. The brightness is happy colours.
She also suggested doing a memorial garden out the back with some kind of ornaments to honour Angel. Im thinking something beachy as that was her favourite place and it’s also Pixies. It’s something they loved together. I want to do it as something similar to how my Great Grandmother had her garden.
With the garden structure, looking after my lawn and proper sleep hygiene. It will help dig me out of this. I just need to be able to find and maintain a structure daily.
I also discovered that I’m slowly taking control of my life and very slowly showing some kindness to myself. By having things so ordered and symmetrical inside my home shows that maybe I can get my life order too.
I feel a lot lighter and a little (and I mean very little) but more confident in myself.
I also feel a little more positive that I can do this and will do this. There will still be a lot of hurdles along the way but that’s ok. That’s what having a MI is about.
