I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I actually said to him to close his eyes and listen to the hum. @tyme. I go to sleep in them! When he had his bone scan the nurse had to stay with him and talk to him. This is going to be way worse for him.

I guess you nephew wants to do it himself.. eventually 😂.

It’s great that he loves school. I use to love it to more the learning part than the social part. I never really had many friends. It’s a shame your niece doesn’t like it. Is there anything in particular that she doesn’t like or just the whole concept?

Pixie is having a doggy chocolate cake. It’s from Petbarn. All the ingredients are there. They had one for Angels birthday and loved it. I will take photos. She also has a couple of presents.

I work in a coal mine and drive those big trucks @outlander. It’s a pretty cruisey job. Some days are a struggle to get there but I need to work to pay my house off so that’s my motivation.

I’m not sure what support is out here. I live rural. Most of dad’s appointments are either 1 1/2 hrs or 4 hrs away. If it’s contained in the prostate, taking it out will remove all cancer. If it’s spread then I don’t know what happens.

Im trying to keep myself busy. I’ve written a list of things I need to do each day until I go back to work on Wednesday. When my list is done I put music on and do diamond art. Im hoping by keeping going that it lessens the fall so I don’t end up back in a full depressive episode.

Im sorry things are tough. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now.

i have an ok job too it pays the bills but can be tough.

hmm next time your dad goes to an appointment perhaps see if you can go with him and ask to speak to the hospital social worker. they can usually help set some supports up. if your dad is able to use technology they can sometimes set up zoom meetings with their social workers as well to help find what he can access.
alot of psychologists also use zoom and phone calls as part of their therapy as well so even rural people can access psychology supports

I spoke to someone today. Their kitten/cat had kittens yesterday. It's an indoor cat so they couldn't work out how it got pregnant... the only thing they can think of is that their other female cat is not a female after all.... so 7 years on 5 kittens... they've found out they have one male and one female cat @Captain24

Oh, the kittens were found at the bottom of the wardrobe. Fancy that... the owner had put the cat on the diet because she couldn't work out why it was getting so fat...

What do you do for work @outlander ?

He goes to all his appointments with mum. They will be here for lunch tomorrow so I’ll chat to them then and see if they want me to sort out someone to help them. I have a CM with the local community health team so they should be able to point me in the right direction. Hopefully. But they are old school and everything is dealt with by themselves.

That so funny @tyme. I don’t know much about cats but you would think you would be able to tell. They are lucky that they have only had one set of kittens! I guess the cat has now lost weight 😜

i am a home carer for a family member as well as working as a support worker/team leader within the disability and aged care sector @Captain24 hoping to work my way into something more specialised across the next year or 2.

hopefully they accept your offer to help them out. maybe if they dont want to listen you can print them off some pamphlets or information they can use and have a read over in their own time. they might need time to process things before accepting they need help

It takes a special kind of person to be a carer and work those sectors. @outlander. It says a lot about you.

I taught dance classes a couple of times at the local disability centre. The girls loved it and so did I. I connected with a few of them and it was great. It felt really rewarding to see the smiles on their faces.

I think if it’s contained and dad just needs his prostate out they will be ok. If it’s spread then maybe they will accept help. But at least I can plant the seed.

I agree @Captain24 @outlander that it takes a special kind of heart to be able to work in the the disability sector etc. You have to love your job. It's certainly not about the money. That goes for you too @Captain24 in terms of teaching dance. That's incredible.

That’s so cool @Captain24 I’m sure they were very appreciative of that!

@tyme unfortunately I’ve come across many people that have been in the industry and only for the money. They often don’t last long or aren’t a “popular” or “requested” support worker very often.
You have to have some passion about what your doing otherwise you just turn sour
