Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

I hope you can calm yourself down a bit @Captain24

Maybe doing some diamond art might help you relax a little.

Re: I can’t cope

There is an app called fiton @Captain24 has a variety of exercises for all different fitness levels so so many! And you can cast it to your tv if you have that functionality

Re: I can’t cope

I just chatted to a friend in the phone for an hr and a half. That has helped me a little. @Snowie. I couldn’t sit long enough to do diamond art!

I looked up that app @Bow. It will be helpful for me to get some exercise in my life. I like that there are short ones as I have trouble with my attention span. Also that there is such a variety and I can start slowly.

I’ve had some dinner and the energy in my body has slowed down and so has my heart rate finally but my head is still scattered. I can’t focus or concentrate on anything.

Heya @Captain24 🙂

Sounds like a busy buzzing day?

Re: I can’t cope

Very busy buzzing day! @tyme.

I got up really early and didn’t even feel the -6.9 degree temperature this morning. I totally didn’t notice how cold it was.

I have done so much today and it’s been great! I have loved it and enjoyed it. It’s been a relief after everything I’ve been through recently.

I filled my CM in on everything today and my GS counsellor called me after to check in on me. She told me last night that I needed to be honest with my CM. That was so nice and caring.

I’ve had a very productive day MH wise as well. I have nothing that I’ve held back.

Anyhows how are you?

Re: I can’t cope

You deserve the relief @Captain24 . I'm so glad today was better. While things are better, I wonder if you can put things in place for when/if things go down again?

How was your appointment with you CM? How did they feel about the lengthy down period?

Whatever it is, I'm so glad things are better.

As for me, I've been having really good days. I love what I do so much. It hasn't been easy, but I love what I do.

Re: I can’t cope

We have put some plans in place for when I crash to try and minimise the fall out @tyme. Having gone so high so quick isn’t a good thing. But at least I’m enjoying while I can.

When I’m safe to drive I have to take all excess medications to the chemist to dispose of. We also did a hard copy of a safety plan to put with my meds. Plus I have written myself a letter with how confident I feel at the moment to reach out for help. Also that I now understand how much support I really have.

My CM appointment was hard. I couldn’t look at her when I told her everything. She is really concerned. We talked about call her if and when things get bad or if it’s out of hrs the MHL. She also said I can go to ED and ask them to keep me for the night until she comes in the next morning.

I don’t think she understands how long I have been so low. She is blaming the fact that I’ve started with the psychologist.

It makes it easier when you enjoy what you do. Did you end up going to Mary Poppins?

@Captain24

It sounds like an admission will be a longer one to help stablise and titrate meds. It's not going to be 'fixed' overnight.

One thing to know is that once you are stable, all these ups and downs level out. That is the day to look forward to.

As for Mary Poppins, the kids LOVED it. I thought they'd be too young, but they really loved it. I think it's made a lasting mark on them. My sister loved it too. As the end, she said "I take back everything I said about wasting money".

Put it this way, it's not the best I've seen, but that's only because the bar is VERY high when it comes to live performances and musicals. I've seen so many. I'm not at all saying Mary Poppins wasn't good - it just wasn't the best. I loved the light/sound effects of Harry Potter. Billy Elliot was pretty good. School of Rock was pretty good. I loved the talent in Matilda.

One thing about Mary Poppins I was disappointed with was that I couldn't buy a CD of the music. I usual 're-live' the show by listening to the CD over and over again in the car when i'm driving. I've got CD's all all the other musicals I've been to... I know CDs are out of date and close to non-existant, however, I would have liked to have a copy of the music.

Re: I can’t cope

The overnight will just be at the local hospital and just for safety @tyme. We don’t have anything else here. When I become stable and stay there will be heaven. It is something to strive for.

I haven’t seen many musicals the costumes and staging of wicked was amazing. I loved Billy Elliott as well. I saw both in Melbourne. I actually knew one of the kids in Billy Elliott! She is now dancing in NY.

I can’t even put a CD in my car! I’m old school I still even have videos and a VCR. That’s showing my age!

Do you have any other musicals coming up? I love going to them but going to Sydney is hard as it’s not safe to walk around at night in your own. Where I’d stay I would have to walk through circular quay to get to the theatre.

Re: I can’t cope

I'm looking for musicals coming up, but nothing that strikes me @Captain24 .

I went to school in Sydney so I know the place well. I still prefer Melb (that's why I'm here lol).

I don't think i'd ever go back to live in Syd - but that's just me.
