Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

My back hasn’t eased at all. It’s really painful. I’m in so much mental anguish and physical pain.

Hi @Captain24 , I'm reading about your back pain! OUCH!

What did you do?

I remember once I was holding a dinner plate, then 'crack!'.... i slipped a disk. I wasn't even doing anything strenuous!

Does sleeping on a hard surface on your back help? Or a heat pack? - not to cure it, but for some relief?

Do you have on-call doctors that can come to your home?

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @tyme 👋

How are you?

The pain is intense. I dropped my watch on the floor and bent over to pick it up. When I went to come back up my back went ‘pop’ then I fell to my knees in so much pain!

The only hard surface is the floor and I can get down there. Heats not relieving never is ice.

The only thing I can do is go to ED, which I’m considering, but I don’t want to sit there for hrs in those chairs. There is no on call drs here.

The worst part is that I have to drive 1 1/2 hrs tomorrow for an MRI. That’s going to be painful! I can’t cancel it as it’s to check for breast cancer and it has to be done on day 10 of my cycle.

It’s all affecting my MH. I just can’t get a break from anything. So far, this year has been really full on. I’m hoping all

my bad luck is done. The next 3 weeks I have no down time either.

Re: I can’t cope

I'm reliving the time when it happened to me @Captain24 . I had to slide alone the floor to do anything, otherwise I was on all fours just to get to the door....

It sounds like an ambulance may be all you can do... unless you grin and bear it until it hopefully sorts itself out.... but if there's no reprieve from the pain, it may be an ambulance you have to call.. just have to be mindful it doesn't do any lasting damage.

Ouch ouch ouch... I'm feeling it....

At least paramedics can give you pain relief, whereas a trip in the car to the hospital can't.

What do you think you'll do?

Re: I can’t cope

I’ve just been to mums and she put the massager on it @tyme. It has settled a little with that and A LOT of OTC pain relief! At least I can sit on the lounge now. My anxiety won’t let me go to ED.

What have you been upto?

Re: I can’t cope

Arghhh. @Captain24 - If you think you can manage, it'll be good at home. But if it gets worse, please do what you need to.

I'm glad to hear the massager made it a bit better.

It'll prob take a week or more to get back to movement....

Please be careful - you only have one back.

I'm okay. Having a quiet day at home. I'm nursing a bit of a headache. I think because I slept over at my niece's yesterday. I woke up with a bad back and headache. I hate sleeping over. I'm only doing it because I've told myself it won't always be that way that she wants me over..... grin a bear it, right? Grrrrr....

Re: I can’t cope

This is the only place that understands that my anxiety prevents me from doing stuff @tyme. It’s so good to be able to be honest and understood.

I will take it easy as I go back to work on Wednesday and I need it to be ok.

What you do for your niece! I’m sure she loves it. And you’re right they are only young once.

How’s your brother-in-law going?

Re: I can’t cope

I'm so glad you hear that you find this space helpful @Captain24 . In my recovery, these forums meant a lot to me - mainly because it was anonymous and I could share my vulnerabilities without the repercussions I would have had in real life. It's sad that so many people out there does understand. Then again, I would have been one NOT to understand if it wasn't for my own MH challenges. Hence I am grateful for the journey (but it was a terribly difficult one).

As for my BIL, thank you for asking. I haven't asked him directly how things are going. Between the hullaballoo of young kids, there's barely time to talk adult talk to him. The little one has got some infection that is all over the body - dr said most likely a reaction from mosquito bites.

So in all, my BIL seems...OKAY. He's staying busy in his field, but I don't think he's bringing in any income. I believe he is working with/for a friend at the moment.... i don't know....
