Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I don’t relate to Monica at all. I’m definitely not a clean freak. Lol!

I got blonde foils and a cut. It’s the same thing every time. I get it cut shoulder length so it’s just long enough to be put into a ponytail for work.

Do you follow a sleep routine? Or do you have something you can take to help with your sleep?

Ooo that sounds lovely!!! @Captain24

No I currently don't have a sleep routine, I think I should create one though, or a good night time routine so that I can unwind properly.

Re: I can’t cope

I have a sleep routine that my nurse and I created since proper sleep is so important. @amber22 The only thing is that the nights where I’m really struggling is the nights I forget about it or don’t have the motivation to follow it.

Re: I can’t cope

That's totally understandable, sometimes it can be really hard to follow through with routines when we're feeling really low @Captain24

What are some of the things that you do in your night/sleep routine?

Re: I can’t cope

It’s pretty basic actually. @amber22.

I set my aircon in my room to 17 degrees. I have a hot drink. I have to taste it, smell it and feel the warmth. Have a hot shower then write in my journal. It’s pretty simple but I have found it helps to unwind. Especially the journaling part.

Re: I can’t cope

That sounds great, I really like the idea of the hot drink, I always have a tea or hot chocolate before bed in the winter time and I find that it really helps me to sleep @Captain24

I should do more journalling, it really does work wonders!

Re: I can’t cope

I usually have tea or hot chocolate depending on if I have milk. @amber22

Journalling is good when my mood is good or just low. When it’s as low as it is now, I find it really hard. It’s like there is only 5 words I want to write. I do try to write something that I have done during the day though. That way I feel some accomplishment. The rest about how I’m feeling is really bad.

Re: I can’t cope

I see what you mean, I think it is good to write about what you have done during the day too because sometimes you have achieved a lot more than you thought as well.

Are you still at the hairdressers? @Captain24

Re: I can’t cope

No I’m home now @amber22. I have managed to take yesterdays washing off the line and put todays on. That’s a start I guess.

I’ve got music playing but it’s irritating me.

I’m really tired after having to act ok for the few hrs at the hairdressers. I’m really not feeling ok at all. My safe place is my bed. I think I might go and have a nap. Hopefully I will wake up feeling even slightly better.

Re: I can’t cope

That's totally okay, have a restful nap and see how you feel afterwards, it was lovely chatting ❤️ @Captain24
