Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

Still really struggling @Bow. I just feel so tired and drained from life. Just had a therapy session that was quite triggering and has left me feeling really empty and numb. Some days are just hard to keep on going.

Hope you are going ok?

Thanks for popping in

Oh that sucks @Captain24! So sorry that your feeling the way that you are. Although your session was triggering and has left you feeling numb, I hope that it was helpful? I often walk away from appointments with my psychologist.., even other folks in my support team, feeling pretty crummy and I have to be really intentional about caring for myself. I always grab a cuppa at my favourite cafe before going home, it gives me time to calm down and process a bit before having to clock back onto parenting.
can you do something nice for yourself this afternoon?

Re: I can’t cope

I’m doing alright thanks @FloatingFeather @Captain24 needing to find things to fill my day. Have been finding that the last week or so when I’ve been doing a bit better that I can’t just mope around the house. Need a bit of purpose I think.

Re: I can’t cope

Oh @Captain24, sometimes those sessions can really be triggering and take it out of a person. I find when I'm triggered it takes me a while to sit with it, process it and then I try to let it go.

I agree with @Bow - can you do something nice for yourself this afternoon? Would you be up for a coffee with friend, walk the dog, etc.

Be kind to yourself,

FloatingFeather

Re: I can’t cope

It was helpful @Bow . I discovered that I will never get the validation or love from my parents that I need as they don’t know how to give it. It cuts quite deep but I just have to accept it I guess.

The only thing I have this afternoon @FloatingFeather is taking the dog for a walk with the above mentioned parents. It could be quite tough today!

I’m glad you were feeling a little better @Bow . I hope you can find some purpose in your days to keep you motivated

Re: I can’t cope

Glad to read you are doing alright @Bow. What do you like to do that brings you joy?

When I'm a bit mopey (not sure if that's even a word 😉) I try to think of things I do which lift my spirits - right now it's playing music that I find lighthearted and uplifting.

When I was at a bit of a loss thinking of a purpose I tried to think about what are my passions, what am I good at (we're all good at some things), and how could I use what I am good and passionate about to help me create purpose.

Wishing you all the best finding your purpose - I'm sure it will come to you very soon.

Best wishes,

FloatingFeather

@FloatingFeather I like to paint. Garden. I’m in the process of writing a book too. So some of those things I do throughout the day, in between being on my exercise bike. I did look into studying peer work, but tafe doesn’t offer it online, only on campus and not near me.

I hope the walk with your dog and your parents goes better then you may think it might @Captain24.

I really do hope your day goes okay and you start to feel a little better. I hope you know many people here care about you.
