So 2022 hasn’t turned out how I thought it would. At the start of the year I never thought I would end up in the dark places I have been. It has been a massive roller coaster of a year. I didn’t ever think I would end the year.
6 months ago I almost took my life when a friend stepped in and made me to get help. I found the strength to do that. I now have an amazing team helping me through this journey of recovery. I also found so much support on these forums.
Along the way I have discovered so much about myself. After being in that dark suicidal place many times since I realise have a lot more strength and resilience than I ever realised. I have found some confidence that I’ve never had. I have also grown so much as a person and have learnt to be more open and trusting to those trying to help me through.
While 2022 has been a disaster, I’m not sure if I would change it if I could. I am finishing the year a much different person to what I started out as. Yes, now I have a MI label but it doesn’t define me. It makes me a stronger, more compassionate and understanding person.
2023 will, no doubt, bring many more challenges but I think I will make it.
2023 is my year.
I wish to send you all positive vibes for the new year and with the strength of each other, we can do it!
