Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

@Captain24 I've got pain relief with me, just waiting for my cuppa to cool down a little so I can take them. I'm so glad you're here today sweet, just please let me know if it gets too much and you need a break.

Zola (snake) does get held regularly, though with the cooler weather we have now it's only for short times.

It’s ok.. I’ve got it. I’m medicated remember! 😜 @MissGremlin

Feel the warmth of the cup in your hand and feel it in your mouth, notice the smoothness of it and the taste of it. Drink it slowly not quickly.

I couldn’t think of anything worse than holding a snake… well holding a spider would be much worse! For me anyway.

What do you feed it?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 haha oh you make me laugh 😂. How did you sleep sweet?

I'm drinking it slowly and savouring the taste, it's a good coffee and very much needed this morning.

I'd definitely much rather hold a snake rather than a spider, too many of them have been on my body against my will 😂. Zola is a very gentle girl though and she's less than a metre long so not too big. She eats little frozen (thawed out of course) mice.

I slept ok. I woke up once to go to the toilet and then I’ve been up since 7. Proper sleep makes a big difference. @MissGremlin. I know that doesn’t happen for you and I’m sorry.

Good work.. it’s the little things that are going to help us get through the day.

Im terrified of spiders and I’m not a real fan of snakes after having a brown nope rope in my backyard. Plus they are everywhere out in my estate.

Will she get any bigger? How often do you feed her?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 glad you slept ok, nothing worse than having to get up to go to the toilet during the night. I was doing somewhat better with sleep, at least for a couple of days but now back to crappy nights.

Yes the little things to help get through the day.

Can understand being afraid of spiders and brown snakes are scary to have around.

She will only be around a metre long, she's a child's python and she gets fed once a week.

At least there was a few days. It’s a shame it can’t stick for you though. @MissGremlin. I’m also medicated for sleep which usually helps. I’m on a cocktail of drugs! But whatever works.

A lady was out walking her dog on the footpath, there was long grass on the corner of it. Her dog jumped and she didn’t think anything of it until it started showing signs of a snake bite. The tested at the vet and it was a brown. You can’t even walk your dogs safely. Which is why I don’t walk mine but as it cools down a bit more I will as it should be safe.

That’s easy feeding! Is that all you have to do with her? Or is there other stuff?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 it would be nice to consistently sleep well or at least ok. Haha the cocktail of drugs, but hey it's working 😂.

Oh that's so scary, was the dog ok? We get them around here aswell but I've been lucky to not cross paths with any. Last time I saw brown snakes was when i lived on the farm. Yes with the cooler weather snakes aren't around much thankfully.

That's pretty much all, her enclosure gets cleaned out fully (fresh substrate) every 3 months and has to stay at a certain temperature, i had to get a new globe the other day for her as the other one died.

I take like 18 tablets a day or something. Lots of those are double doses though. @MissGremlin I put them in a weekly organise as it’s too hard to remember what is what and how many. I only have to think about it once a week!

Yeah the dog survived because she was on top of the symptoms and was really lucky. Not a lot of dogs make it after a brown.

That’s easy care. No wonder they are good pets for kids. Do you handle her often?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 it's alot of tablets, you might rattle when you walk 😂. Sorting them out on a weekly basis is a good idea and makes it much easier to manage.

I'm really glad the dog survived. Alot of owners don't realise until it's too late sadly.

They are definitely perfect pets for kids, though alot of kids much prefer fluffy pets 😂. I do handle her regularly, she loves being a bracelet 😂.

It’s a lot to think about and organise. I have alarms set for when I need to take them! My adhd meds are highly addictive and the script can only be written by a Pdoc and monitored closely. I could hand them out to people and they would get high. But with adhd I forget to take them! Definitely not addictive to most of us. 😜 @MissGremlin

I much prefer fluffier pets for sure! Do you let her roam around the house or just hold her and put her back in?
