Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

It feels like it’s bone I think @tyme. I just seems as though nothing is easy. it’s always something. Im a the point of just giving up on everything.

I don’t like those ones. I’ve done a couple of them and the paper fiddly parts annoy me. It’s not the same as the ones I do. There’s no paper it’s all just wooden and there is lots more pieces to it.

It’s hard so it’s a distraction, I can get into it and not realise the time. It’s good to see it starting to come together. I do have to stop somethings when it is hard and I can’t get the pieces together and just need to stop somethings I can refocus and come back to it later. One little piece out of place and it won’t go together. All instructions must be followed to a t and in the exact order!

Thanks @MissGremlin. Not too much but it’s really scaring me as she isn’t accepting the needle. It’s becoming stressful for us both.

Im trying.

How is things?

@Captain24 i hear you sweet, I'm sorry it's really hard. I can understand how it would be scary that she's not accepting the needle cos its something she needs. I hope it starts to get easier for both of you soon.

Things have been really hard for me today, I'm just doing the best I can.

Cool @Captain24 . thanks for the tip re the puzzles. I'll look into it when I plan on doing some!

Yeah, also if one piece is wrong, that would frustrate me to the limit too!!

I'll think about it.

I hope the hip pain isn't something too bad. I know someone who experienced hip pain in the past and it was arthritis

Re: I can’t cope

Yeah. Have a good look at them @tyme. You might like them, I enjoy them until I come to putting all the paper stuff in.

One piece wrong and it’s basically wrecked unless you find it really quick. I have only had one where the cogs have worked! That was the last one so I’m hoping maybe I have finally got it. I guess I’ll see when I do this one.

I hope it’s nothing. I can’t afford to go to the chiropractor with an out of schedule appointment. Arthritis is possible I guess. Maybe it’ll settle down.

How are you going?

Argh... whether it works or not, it looks good lol @Captain24

Have you had hip pain in the past? Yeah, hope it settles.

I'm pretty okay. The house is very subdued.... very little talking and laughing. We are trying to keep things as normal as possible. I feel sad for my BIL. The sparks gone out of him.

That’s what I figure @tyme. It was so cool when the marble one worked though! They roll down all these different slopes!

I can imagine that it’s a bit different. It will have changed a lot of things. Maybe he is feeling a little shame? Hopefully he can see someone soon to help work through it if he is ready for that?

Re: I can’t cope

That's awesome that the marble one works. Can you paint it? @Captain24

Yeah, it's shame and guilt. I'm sensing depression too. I just know he's really vulnerable. It's hard to talk because the kids are always there.

Re: I can’t cope

I guess you could paint it but that’s not something I would do. @tyme Its so cool. I actually got another marble one while I was on holidays and something else but I can’t remember what that one is.

Could also be withdrawals? Or is he still taking them? Maybe when the kids go to school you might have a chance. Especially if he knows that there is no judgement. I’m really hoping that he wants to do the work. It may change a lot of things in the future. For the better.

Im here for you through the journey. (Learning curve!)

Re: I can’t cope

For some reason, after seeing him tonight, I'm feeling it. Once I hop off, I wonder if I'll start thinking about it? Maybe I haven't thought much about it because i've kept myself busy???

Who knows.

I'll see if I can speak to my sister to determine the next steps. See if we can get him into some support service. @Captain24

It's going to be a long road. When is someone able to say they are clean? How long do they have to wait? I have all these questions.

I studied AOD counselling and I was totally not interested because it didn't make sense to me. The statistics show that people who work in AOD are generally those whose life have been affected by it. Maybe this is my next step, working in mental health? As a carer of someone struggling with addiction???
