Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Yes yes! Something Like that about the Emu War... I will need to look into it lol. @Captain24

It was very yucky and humid today. I think 27 degrees. But I didn't really go out until the evening. My asthma was playing up as soon as I stepping foot out.

It's raining now.

I guess it was warm enough for the cold-blooded creatures to all come out, eh?

Asthma is the pits @tyme. I feel for you. Is your severe? My brother has it really badly. I get it with bay fever and Covid. Apparently I have it all the time and I’m suppose to use a preventer. Maybe if I give up smoking it might improve!

Maybe that’s why the goanna was out? I dodge as many animals as I can except for snakes! 300t truck wins against a snake every time! Lol

I love the sound of rain at night. Especially on a tin roof.

Do you have much on tomorrow?

Re: I can’t cope

Yes @Captain24 , I'm on a preventer. I can get off it some seasons, but currently, I'm having it everyday. As soon as I go out, I struggle to breathe.

The GP said that if I'm using a reliever more than 2-3 times a week, it means I need to go back on my preventer.

I had sever childhood asthma. And I think in a way, that cause my parents to treat me the way they did. Which ultimately led to childhood trauma.

As for the poor wildlife....most definitely your machine wins! Did you have a chance to talk to anyone at work today?

Hey @tyme. I do have a question that’s playing on my mind. I have my first appointment with a dietitian tomorrow and I don’t know what to expect?

I did talk to a guy at work and he talked to me too. He is going through some stuff. Apparently this guy and my boss discussed me in his review as they are both really concerned. That was kind of nice.

Sounds like your asthma has caused you a lot of issues

Re: I can’t cope

That's really good @Captain24 . I guess for me, they ask questions about my lifestyle and my general eating/snacking patterns. Some will ask for measurements. Then you look at goals. ie. how many appointments you have and what you'd like to use the appointments for.

For my dietician, it was about educating me about a healthy lifestyle so that I could make a lifestyle change. It was NOT about restricting foods or refrain from eating foods. It was about moderation and balance.

I also learnt that BMI can be deceiving because you can be classified as healthy no matter your BMI. It is more about body composition - but the test is lengthy.

I have a whole health book that I got from my dietician that teaches how to read food labels etc. This includes sugars, sodium, etc.

I started off seeing the dietician once a fortnight, then once a month, then every 6 months, then yearly. It's just to monitor those goals I set and for her to encourage me to continue with maintaining a healthy lifestyle e.g. exercise vs food intake

Re: I can’t cope

Thanks so much for that @tyme My dietitian specialises in MH. So hopefully she can help with the new mood stabiliser

Re: I can’t cope

That sounds really promising @Captain24 .

Unfortunately, my meds cause my body to crave food, esp sugars, a few hours after taking it. I looked into the chemistry of it, and something to do with the med binding to sugars...

Argh.. joys of meds and physical health.

On the flip side, without the meds, I wouldn't be here chatting.

Re: I can’t cope

Other than talking to the guy at work, I also emailed HR with a little bit. I did tell the other guy everything about last night though.

Im glad that you are on them. I was on one that caused me to eat loads! This one reacts with salt and I need to have more or something

Thanks so much for the general chat @tyme. I have missed it.

Im still not in a good way but I can say honestly that I’m safe!

Have a good night @tyme

Re: I can’t cope

So I just had my first appointment with the dietitian. @hanami It went really well. All she asks of me is to try and improve one thing until I see her in a month. So I picked the easiest!

The goal is to eat for my MH and weight loss is a bonus. I’m willing to try anything to stop this cycle.
