I'm struggling.. Big time! A psychiatrist put me on new medication over a month ago, but doesn't seem to work. She asked me to go back to my GP for follow up as it causes me too much anxiety seeing her. My GP says the tablets could take another month 😞 another whole month of feeling like this just seems unimaginable 😞 I'm seeing a new psychologist today, freaking out. I feel crazy because I can't find one that helps me. Trouble is hardly anyone knows I'm struggling because I pretty much put on a happy face mask 90% if my life.
THank you for answering my questions @Kurra. I don't really know where to go to from here. I get that everything is different for every person, but it's getting to the point where I believe that no-one actually believes or understands me, which is hard because I don't really understand what's happening myself. What's best for me, hospital or not? Face to face therapy or not? I'm only an antidepressants but they seem to be doing nothing. People keep telling me things will get better but I don't really know if it will? Sorry for the crappy message, feeling down tonight. I feel like I'm fighting this all by myself.

Hi @Former-Member
If I were in your position I would be looking for a psychologist that I feel comfortable talking to. You should know within the first couple of appointments if you have found the right person.
Psychologists have many ways of helping you sift through the detritus as you start learning more about yourself and what is happening now. Be warned though. The psychologist is not the person who does the hard work. You do!
Bipolar is now an insignificant part of my life but I have put in many hours of very hard yakka to get to this point. Although active bipolar episodes are not a part of my life now, I have to remain ever vigilant for any early signs of an impending active episode.
To make sure that I remain well my psychologist still sees me every couple of months. This is rather like an insurance policy. Just to be sure that nothing has slipped under my radar.
See your GP and ask if he/she can recommend anyone. At least then you will have a starting point. Your doctor can also write up a Medicare funded Mental health plan that will enable you to see a psychologist free (or at a significantly reduced cost) for up to 10 sessions per year.
If you do try this, please let us know how you go.

Re: I don't know what to do..
Thank you @Former-Member, I appreciate that very much. I tried to do a few things tonight that make me feel happy and positive. But I'm struggling. Thinking I should just go to bed.

I'm glad you've been trying some bits and pieces that make you happy. Sometimes it's just the thought that counts... You've tried. That shows incredible strength in such dark and challenging times.
Might be nice to have a rest now. I hope when you wake up in the morning the day is a little brighter
