Overwhelmed and uninspired

Overwhelmed and uninspired

Hi,

I am new here. I feel quite overwhelmed and uninspired to do anything I want to, and/or need to, do.

I don't know what to say. Or what anyone here could say. Other than maybe "I'm sorry" and "I read your post".

I kind of want to tell every one right now - White flag - ceasefire. Maybe surrender. Not quite. How I can imagine it looks like is give in to assessing other people's offered advice.

I just feel lost and trapped. I really want to yell out that its not fair.

What can I be responsible for? Heaps. There are lots of tasks to do.

I don't know how to break out of this cycle.

So, I guess, Cease-fire.

Oh yeah? @tyme

You've sort of cleaned the house?

Would you like to say more?

Does this ceasefire kinda mood mean procrastination to you?

Stopping for self-care?

I'm not quite sure what you meant.

Hey @Former-Member ,

Yeah, well, I've started tidying things up, vacuuming and mopping, but then I've haven't put away the mop, or put the bits of furniture back from when I clean etc... so in reality, while cleaning, I created more things to tidy up.

Ceasefire doesn't necessarily mean procrastination. In some things, yes. In other things no. Ceasefire is more a "meh? whatever happens happens attitude"

What do you think? What does your white-flag attitude look like?

@Former-MemberDon’t think I’ve ever written out conversations. But I’ve been suggested to write out my story by my psych. Probably won’t share it with anyone apart from my psych and cousin.

I think I sort of shut people off without really trying to in my personal life, it can be due through disassociation. I also sometimes I get into completely useless arguments or get angry and agitated over small things. Emotional outbursts and reactions do happen, I didn’t really take it personally. I am glade you are feeling better, take good care of yourself today ❤️.

@tymecleaning is definitely productive, but yes you often end up with a mess when moving things. I need to clean my room too. Just not bothered today.

You don't have to answer but I thought I would ask as I would love to know more about what does ableism look like to you? I am just curious so I can learn for the future and make sure i do better.

One of my problems ( from occasional outbursts when I feel trapped or over powered by ableist people)

Hi, I'm new here too. When you said you were unable to do what you want and need to, it is exactly what happens to me everyday. I'm stuck in neutral. Cant move forward and everyday things get worse. I don't know how to help you, but really want you to know you aren't the only one. Ive worked really hard all my life but now I'm trauma seized up. I hope knowing its not just you helps you.

Hey @Brandie ,

I'm tyme, one of the peer support workers on the forums. Thank you for reaching out. You are right in saying people are not alone.

I guess sometimes, it's not about having answers but rather, just sitting with someone.

I'm sorry to hear how challenging things are for you. Do you have any supports you can talk to about the trauma?

Re: Overwhelmed and uninspired

Thank you so much tyme for your kind message. I just found this way to contact you, sorry. No I don't have any help or support for my trauma nor anyone to talk to. That's why I joined SANE when I saw it advertised. That was the first time I visited the site and I identified with that person (overwhelmed and uninspired) and really hoped i could help that person feel better.

Thank you @Brandie

I'm glad my frustrations resonated with you as well.

Sometimes I just need to be heard to move on to another emotional state.

That overwhelming frustration has passed. By typing it, and a lot more when I was heard.

Take care.

Re: Overwhelmed and uninspired

Thank you so much. I agree, its being heard that helps. I didn't realise that before you just said it. I thought I needed someone to talk to but that doesn't always help as the person I'm talking to doesn't know that feeling so I guess they can't really "hear" me. Thank you.
